Orlando Pirates striker Chiukepo Msowoya made it three goals in his two matches for Malawi on Saturday to deliver a strong message to the Buccaneers that proper fielding is the key if he is to deliver the goods in South Africa.
Chiukepo came off the bench in the 40th minute to score a brace that earned Malawi a 6-2 win over Chad in the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at Blantyre's Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday.
Chiukepo proved that being featured as a lone striker for Pirates is wrong for him as he perfectly partnered former Jomo Cosmos striker Esau Kanyenda, soon after replacing Black Leopards forward Grant Lungu with the game at 2-1.
During the match it took 15 minutes into the opening half for African Warriors' Jimmy Zakazaka to open the scoring, easily side-footing into the net a through pass from Kanyenda after the Chad defence was caught flat-footed and napping.
One became two when provider turned scorer as Kanyenda slotted into the net after being fed clear by Lungu in the 21st minute, much to the excitement of the home crowd in predominantly red colours.
Before the euphoria could die down, Chad proved that they had the individual brilliance, striker Ezechiel Ndouassel reacting the quickest to volley into the net from a left flank cross which found the Flames defence flat-footed. Half-time ended 2-1 in favour of the hosts.
The Flames continued from where they left after break, Kanyenda earning his double with a well-timed scissors kick, connecting Limbikani Mzava's throw in after 52 minutes.
Substitute Msowoya ended hopes of table-anchors Chad's come back when he fired into the net the third after a solo run from the left flank in the 75th minute.
Msowoya put the game beyond the visitors' reach, blasting into the net a direct free kick in the 80th minute to make it three goals in two starts for the Flames.
But Chad refused to die easily; a simple counter attack ended with Marius Mbiani's long range shot curling past a badly positioned Malawi goalkeeper Swadick Sanudi in the 83rd minute.
Flames' midfielder Robert Ng'ambi of Leopards hammered the last nail into Chad's coffin, stylishly flicking Kanyenda's pass past advancing Chad goalkeeper Porena Tapoul.
It was the Flames first win of the Orange 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers that stretched their tally to six points from four games, three of which ended in draws.
