Sierra Leone's Christian Cole talks tough

Posted: 8 October 2010 Time: 11:29

Sierra Leone coach Christian Cole has been talking big ahead of his side's 2012 Africa Cup of Nations meeting with Bafana Bafana in Freetown on Sunday.

Cole has declared himself satisfied with his side's build-up and says that his team is full of confidence after their draw against Egypt in Cairo last month.

"We have started on an excellent note against Egypt and we hope to build on that against South Africa," Cole told SierraExpressMedia. "If we win in Freetown against South Africa nothing will stop us from reaching the finals in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea in 2012.

"We defeated them in Freetown in the last qualifier, and this is a fact I am determined to maintain our 100 percent record over South Africa this Sunday.

"I watched them during the World Cup they hosted in South Africa and other competitions they have played in the past, and I know they are a very good side, but we are ready to upset them in Freetown."

Cole believes the fact that his overseas stars are on the whole part of the first-team plans of their clubs in Europe bodes well.

"The players I have invited are all actively playing for their clubs in Europe which I believe is good for me in the absence of trial matches," he says.

I think Bafana has been talking too much for my liking during the week. Remember the second game at the world cup after playing to a 1 all draw against Mexico??? Just before the game we were showing off telling everybody how we going to dismantle Urugauy. What happened???

We must stop falling into the media trap by selling them stories. If we loose the knives will be out for Bafana and the coach. Just do the talking on the field.

There's no way Bafana can beat Siera Leone. They are weak, can't score goals, selection is biased, never achieved anything.

Well, as we are used to failing, let's witness how we fail again.

I so wish Pitso could have taken Mathew Mlungu,Tlou Socks and Mark Mayambela. These boys are not scared of anything or anyone.

Non the less a draw will be fine

I dont see the clueless Pitso coming back with 3 points. Bafana will play exactly like they played in the World cup, with two defensive midfielders who are not effective in attack. So, we are going to score one goal if we are lucky but will sure concede.

@TivanI,

Pienaar fake the injury, it does not matter now what the web site is saying, its too late. All that we need now is 3 points and Kaizer cabbage can help us with their contacts to match officials. Last time Bafana lost because of Match officials.

Bribe the Cabbage boys Bribe them!!!
