Steve Komphela back at Free State Stars

Posted: 20 September 2010 Time: 15:25

Steve Komphela has rejoined Free State Stars as head coach.

The former Bafana Bafana defender replaces Sunday Chidzambwa, who resigned today citing "personal" reasons as the reason for his departure. has in its possession pictures of a smiling Komphela accepting the job, despite officials at the club, including chairman Mike Mokoena, stating they were not aware of Chidzambwa's sudden departure. He had been in charge for three League games, drawing all of them including the last on Saturday against Cape side Vasco Da Gama.   Together with Themba Sithole as joint head coaches Komphela guided the Free State side to an impressive fourth place finish in the 2008/09 season.

However, Komphela left for Platinum Stars and the North-West side almost got relegated, finishing 14th on the log, just a mere five points ahead of 15th placed Mpumalanga Black Aces.   Ea Lla Koto's spokesperson Rantsi Mokoena was not available to confirm the length of Komphela's contract with the team.

He is a good talker and a very lousy coach, he simply can't walk the walk. Themba Sithole was responsible for the success at FSS and i hope he is no longer there so that this palooka can be proven once and for all that he knows talking football and not coaching!

Spaza shop indeed.

But if there is one team Steve can coach is FSS.

He failed at one of the professionaly run teams and has excelled at this spaza shop...... what does that say about Steve?

That was so predicatable from FSS management. But anyway I like to congratulate Mr Komphela on his new job. May this one be the one we can finally say Steve is one of the best coaches to hail from this country. All the best Stevavo...Show them!
