Heartland upbeat ahead of Ahly clash

Heartland players are confident of a good result against Al Ahly this weekend as Samson Siasia spent his first session in Egypt in the gym.

Finalists in 2009 edition, Heartland arrived in Cairo on Thursday evening to a calm and cautious reception offered by the hosts but still very up-beat about their chances in the game.

The Nigerian side, third in the group with 4 points, can haul themselves back into contention with a win against the former champions in Sunday's game.

Media Officer Cajetan Nkwopara says it is 50-50.

"Although we trail Ahly by one point, there is still a fifty-fifty chance to progress in the competition.

"Any one of the contending three teams in Group B can still qualify alongside Algerian side, JS Kabylie who already top the group with 10 points but that will depend so much on the result of Sunday's game," he said.

The CAF Champions League Group B, second leg game will come up by 18h00 Nigerian time at the Cairo International Stadium.

I think the time to stop talking is here,we have to move as ordinary Nigerians and stop the aid of FIFA on corruption in our sport.
What else does FIFA need to kw? That the people we HAD and have in our football house are all corrupt, and yet they still aid them by threating 150million Nigerians with a BAN.
Is Fifa happy with the state of football in Africa? No development, corruption happening every where, the leagues are 40years backward compared to leagues in Europe.Does fifa like Africa being backward?corruption and unprofessionalism are one of the reasons any African team has not passed the quarter final of the world cup,it seems to me that FIFA is happy with that.
we must all stand against FIFA and let them know that our fight against corruption is greater that their rules.
I heard there was group set up here to move Nigeria football forward, has this group written to FIFA as ordinary Nigerians? The likes of chief segun odegbami cant do it alone,we must help them fight this WAR.
From next month when i get my acts together i wld send fifa a letter once every week until they allow law take its place in Nigerian football with out a ban.
should we write as a group or as individuals?
I got this fifa addy on line!any other addy? or email?

All you guys that come here and bla bla bla you mouth how Siasia is a good coach should go and jump into the lagoon. You guys must go and see what Siasia did to Heartland FC. The Same team that scores goals with little problem under the teams former coach was turned to garbage under Siasia. If NFF make Siasia SE coach, that will be the dead-end of Nigerian Eagles. I know that all those Niger Delta MILITANTS and kidnapers in this forum who are the cohort of Siasia will open their mouth. God will punish you all and whoever that brought him to kill heartland FC with his stupid tactics.

Ugonna: 2010-09-12 22:32

@kessy
your post sounds tribalistic, it points the part of the country you are comming from, but for the sake of national unity i will not mention it here. No wonder you dont want to join us with @Chefo in fighting for the curse he posted here. your post is totaly different from all previous post here

Let me tell yu one thing here. It was not people like siasia that has brought doom to this country but rather people like you, Maigarri, Sani Lulu and the other crew that prefare coruption, politics and tribalism to prevail over truth.

Your hatred for Siasia is not justifiable but based on your love for tribalism.

By the way if you say siasia is not good because of Heartland then which home based coach do you prefare to be the coach. is it Eguavon that was batched 4-0 by Ghana or Amodu that has no sence of coaching.

Finaly Siasia was working under The boys of the former Coach and not his own boys

GIVE SIASIA THE CHANCE! LOVE ACHIEVEMENT AND NOT TRIBALISM!!!

Mikky Wallace,
The fight has taken place and Sam peter lost by K.O.
The Klitscho (Can't pronounce the name right) guy out pummelled him and punched him out in the 10th round.
The Guy is strong and won every round!

@Olameleka..Enough of this rubbish you are vomiting out of your mouth, if you dont know anything just shut up; the problem of heartland is beyond Siasia. The management of the club are to be blame for not giving the players their dues, the governor was giving a wrong advice to fire the formwer coach at the the dying minute. Beside that, most of their players ran to Europe to search for news clubs. so blaming Siasia is out of point.
