Safa has sent messages of condolences to the families and friends six City Spurs players who died in a motor accident on Saturday. 

Spurs campaign in the Maluti a Phofung Local Football Association's promotion league in QwaQwa; under the auspices of  Safa Thabo Mofutsanyana region. 
 
The accident happened while the team was on the way to the nearby village of Tsheseng to play a friendly match.
 
Thirteen other players are still under observation in hospital, with three of them in a critical but stable condition.
 
The six players - Piet Radebe, Lebohang Rampine, Kabelo Ramalitse, Manyane Mokoena, Serame Mokubung and Sello Molai – will be laid to rest at a joint funeral service on Saturday, September 11 in Tseki Village, QwaQwa. 
 
The service will be held at the Itlotliseng Primary School, starting at 10h00, and will proceed to the Sekgutlong Cemetery in Tseki at 12h00.
 
The memorial service was held this morning at the Itlotliseng Primary School. 
 
"The loss of a life is one too many, and to lose six at a go really saddens us as the South African Football Association; more so because these were aspiring footballers who had a bright future. We are indeed at a loss for words, and would like to convey our sincerest condolences to the family, friends, relatives and loved ones of the deceased, we just hope they are strong during these difficult and trying times," said Safa President Kirsten Nematandani.
 
"And let's also not forget the ones that are in hospital, we would like to wish them a speedy recovery," said Nematandani.
 
The Maluti a Phofung LFA has formed a Crisis Committee which has set up a Trust Fund, the MAP Football Tragedy Account. 
 
"The funds will be used for the funeral arrangements and also to assist the players who are still in hospital. We are in mourning for our young heroes, who had showed so much promise only to be taken away from us at such an early age.
 
"We would like to say to their families, our deepest sympathy at this time of need. We would also like to thank everyone that has come to our aid since this tragedy befell us, we say we would not be able to do it without you and your help is much appreciated. To our head office we want to say thank you also for the support," said Thite Titi, chairperson of the Maluti a Phofung Local Football Association.
