Goalkeeper Calvin Marlin is happy to be back in Mamelodi Sundowns’ playing squad and to have claimed the number 1 jersey back at the club.
Marlin struggled with game time last season under Hristo Stoichkov, but now with Antonio Lopez-Habas at the helm as club head coach, it seems that the former Ajax Cape Town keeper is enjoying his football again.
The keeper has yet to concede a goal since the start of the League after keeping clean sheets against both Moroka Swallows and Platinum Stars.
Speaking to KickOff.com, Marlin hails the great new found spirit at Chloorkop which he says is behind their good performances in their last two games.
"It is nice to be back and I am hoping to keep up my performances this season. We also have a new goalkeeper coach which has also helped me improve my game.
"We have a great coach in Habas whom we understand well as he was with us last season and the only thing for us to do now is to continue doing what he wants us to do on the field."
The former Seven Stars goalkeeper says their main priority this season is to win the League.
"As we are already out of the MTN8 Cup, our ambition now is to win every tournament on offer with our main priority being the League Championship this season."
