Nsofor credits Kanu for Hammers move

West Ham striker Obinna Nsofor has revealed a discussion with his hero Nwankwo Kanu persuaded him to make a move into the Premier League and has vowed to make the East End his new home.

Nsofor, 23, completed a season-long loan move from Inter Milan last month and is determined to become a star in England this season.

The Nigerian international is regarded as one of his country‘s most exciting talents and he is determined to show he can compete at the highest level.

Several big clubs across Europe were chasing his signature, but Nsofor chose West Ham following a lengthy discussion with his Nigerian teammate Kanu who played under Avram Grant last season and told him to make a move to West Ham.

Nsofor told talksport.com on Wednesday, “I spoke to the Legend, as we call him in Nigeria, for advice. Kanu is the king. He said many good things. He was so excited for me to come here.

“He gave me some advice before signing for West Ham and told me to go for it. He encouraged me. He has played under the manager and said they had a very positive relationship.

“I have spoken to all of my teammates in the national team. They are so excited. Inter have an amazing stadium but West Ham have a big culture and a very long history.

“It is an impressive stadium with so much history and I am looking forward to making it my home. I am going to have a nice life here.”

Nsofor is hoping to make an immediate debut against Chelsea at Upton Park on Saturday.

The talented forward is not concerned by West Ham‘s poor start to the season and feels they have enough quality in the squad to move well clear of the bottom three.

@Soccer_Pro or what ever name u called ur self dream on?

Freeman: 2010-09-09 14:36

@Ugonna, If Nsofor get a Hatrick from Chelsea, Inter will declare him not for sale, and Man U will price him away with a lucrative offer 24 Mil offer, while Chelsea will hijack the deal before its through.
If Mikel scores in this match, Mourinho will declare his interest in his former ward, and SAF will say he could have been scoring regularly if he were in Manchester.
But lets dream on...
But one thing is certain, if he get a debut against the blues, he is sure to scare ferreira will his speed and cause Alex some worrying moments but to score? Carlton Cole couldn't neither will a debutant!
