Lulu, others stay in jail

Former NFF President Sani Lulu Abdullahi and his three associates will spend the holiday season in jail after failing to meet their bail conditions on deadline.

Bail for Lulu, Amanze Uchegbulam, Taiwo Ogunjobi and Bolaji Ojo-Oba was set at N100 million each by Justice David Okorowo, along with two sureties.

The conditions were expected to be met before close of work on Wednesday to allow the men spend the sallah holidays with their respective families.

But the men failed to meet the conditions before the close of business and will remain in custody.

The former football officials are facing trial on a 10-count charge of misappropriating a sizeable chunk of Nigeria's World Cup funds.

Accountability, retribution, justice... this guys are in soup because Nigeria did not qualify for the second round, although their hands might be soiled, but you and I know that Had Nigerians reached the quarter finals these guys woulld have been heroes. Nigerians do things mostly on sentiment not on principle, politicians like IBB,Dimeji Bankole, Gbenga Daniel names' are almost synonymous with looting but they are walking around untouched.

e to dike na nke omereme, o me kwa ozo" this is the reason why top government officials will never stop stealing. when they stole our, the so-called musician will start praising them, pastors and imams will organize special prayers in their churches and mosque for, and will occupy fronts seats and became demi-gods, alaye's will call them baba oo, obi's and igwe's will confine on them chief taincy titles, they will be called stupid nick names, aha "Okwu oto ekene eze 1", oluaye 1, saraki 1 etc, then oliver d' coque will sing " e too dike na nke omereme, o me kwa ozo" then if he had stolen 1M Naira before, he will graduate to still 1b naira, so it is not their faults but ours, because we praised them for stilling little, he must still gain, But thank God, the rich also cry. May God help our stupidity.

nemesis always cought up with those who violated the law of the country. No hiding place for those who embezzle our football money simply because they are in control of power. Today we are talking of a differents thing. This is a sign of a progress in nigeria history knowing that those who thief will never go unpunish.

Millions of nigerians are fellowing this case and they hope that justice will be done soon. Sani and co wishing you happy sallah day inside prison.

Some of our African colleagues do not want Nigeria to prosper. What is the motive behind Ichiban's comment? He has always antagonized Nigeria anyway.

Emmanuel : 2010-09-09 16:28

I wish it can really be true that Nigeria is calling back justice.
