Hunt still not happy with his team

Even though his side managed to collect their first three points in the League this season, Supersport United coach Gavin Hunt was unhappy about their performance during the game against Mpumalanga Black Aces played at the Lucas Moripe Stadium yesterday.

United beat Aces 2-1 courtesy of goals by Dipsy Selolwane and Fikru Teferra in the 26th and 59th minutes respectively.

Speaking to KickOff.com, Hunt says even though he is disappointed with his team's poor performance he is glad that they came away with the three points at home.

"This was a poor performance from the team even though we managed to get the three points. I think we should have done better.

"However credit must also go to our opponents as they pressed us and didn't give us a chance to settle down. As I said before I am glad that we got the three points."

United played against Aces without influential midfielder Thandanani Ntshumayelo, who was one of Matsatsantsa's best players last season, and his absence raised more questions than answers amongst the club supporters at the game yesterday.

"If you ask me why he was not playing then tell me which player he was going to replace amongst those in the midfield. He is still our player and just like any player has to face competition in the club," says Hunt.

Meanwhile Mpumalanga Black Aces assistant coach Dumisa Ngobe says their loss was due to defensive mistakes but promised his club would bounce back in their next League game.

"I think we played well but conceded stupid mistakes in defence. We also lacked confidence in our play hence we failed to recover after conceding the first goal in the first half.

"We have a lot of new players and are still trying to gel but I am confident that in the next few games we will get to our rhythm and start to win games," he adds.
