Marimo – I want the League

Sunday Marimo Chidzambwa could have bitten more than he can chew after declaring Free State Stars will be fighting for the League this season.
After all, Ea Lla Koto huffed to safety last season, finishing 13th, yet the Zimbabwean-born coach says he has set his sights on the League title. Chidzambwa was speaking to the media after Stars held Pirates to a 0-0 draw at the FNB stadium on Wednesday, thus making it two goalless draws out of two matches so far.
Chidzambwa, though, is confident he has at his disposal a team capable of challenging for honours.
"We will fight for honours, if we don't win tough luck this is football. Any coach will want to win the League and I'm one of them. I want the League just like any other coach," he said.
The new Stars boss further said he wasn't satisfied with a draw against Bucs. "There is no coach who goes to a football match with a draw in mind. Every coach will love to win. We didn't come for a draw, no, we were fighting for a good result but in football one of three things can happen, that is a draw, lose or win. We got a draw and we are happy to take a point back home," Chidzambwa said.
"It was a tough game for us, because we were playing against a very good team and the pitch was a bit difficult for us, because it was big for us. I think we are not used to playing in such a big field but I hope a point can help us in future," he added.
