Paintsil urges Rajevac to stick by promise

John Paintsil is hoping Milovan Rajevac will stick to his word and stay on with the Ghana Black Stars as the Ghana Football Association battle to hang onto the Serbian.

The Fulham right back captained the Black Stars in their 3-0 win over Swaziland in a Nations Cup qualifier last Sunday but the result has been overshadowed by the growing possibility that Rajevac will fall for the bait of wealthier clubs in the Arab world and go back on a promise to sign an extended new deal with the Black Stars.

Rajevac has asked about a week to think through his options and senior officials of the Ghana Football Association now admit they have no clue whether he will agree to stay on at the club.

And that uncertainty have seeped through players of the Black Stars many of whom have no clue who their boss will be when they arrive in town for the second game in the qualifiers on October 10 against Sudan.

Paintsil though is hoping is Rajevac. The defender won't comment on reports linking the Serbian to a move away from Ghana except to say 'he loves Ghana so much and promised to stick us so I don't think that move is going to work.'
