Moroka Swallows and Ajax Cape Town will have a 'dress rehearsal' for Saturday's MTN8 Cup tie when they meet in a League match at the Dobsonville Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Kick-off is at 20h00.
Swallows and Ajax are set to meet in the first leg of their MTN8 semi-final tie at Athlone Stadium this coming weekend and it will be interesting to see how the teams approach this match with an eye toward preparing for the cup encounter.
The Birds suffered a 2-0 defeat in their opening League game of the 2010/11 season when they went down away to Mamelodi Sundowns, conceding two late goals in a tightly-fought match.
The Urban Warriors, in contrast, claimed a 2-0 victory over Bloemfontein Celtic in their opening match. Thulani Serero and Brett Evans scored the goals to clinch the three points for the Cape side.
Head-to-head stats show that Swallows and Ajax have met 22 times in the League since the 1999/2000 season.
The Birds have a narrow statistical edge after claiming 10 wins to the Urban Warriors' nine – both sides have netted 30 goals against one another.
