Jomo Cosmos and Swazi national team striker Phinda Dlamini has blamed lack of fitness as a major factor in Sihlangu Semnikati's downfall against Ghana at the weekend.
Swaziland were beaten 3-0 in an Afcon qualifier played at Somhlolo Stadium in Mbabane on Sunday.
Dlamini was among the South African based players in the team that included Santos winger Tony Tsabedze and Orlando Pirates midfielder Dennis Masina.
However, the Swazi team also disappointed their King who also graced the occasion against the Milovan Rajevac-led side.
Speaking to KickOff.com after the game at Lobamba, Dlamini said his team will not give up after the result against Ghana as this was still the beginning of their journey to Equatorial Guinea and Gabon in 2012.
"Ghana was not the same team that played in the World Cup. We played well but were let down by fitness. Some of the players were not 100 percent fitness as the League in Swaziland has just started. Also, conditions at some of the teams in our country do not allow players to have proper pre-season training.
"However there is no reason for us to give up now; we should lift up our heads and focus on doing well in our next match."
The Manzini-born striker is expected to join his new team Ezenkosi this week after signed from SuperSport United last week.
