SuperSport beat Bucs to Mopani Cup

SuperSport United will go into Wednesday’s Absa Premiership match against Mpumalanga Black Aces in high spirits after beating Orlando Pirates 2-0 in the Mopani Mayor's Charity Cup on Sunday.

It is the fourth successive victory for Matsatsantsa in this tournament, and it came by way of a brace from Thulani Ngcepe.

After a lacklustre first half under scorching conditions, the game livened up after the break following the introduction of Ngcepe and the young Daniel Mitchel, who was a thorn in Bucs side and created both the goals in the 80th and 90th minutes respectively.

Robyn Johannes appeared in Pirates colours for the first time since leaving Mamelodi Sundowns a few hours before the transfer window deadline last Tuesday, whilst Joseph Makhanya got a thunderous reception when he came on.

Ooh, i was one of the most overwhelmed to see Duku Duku not only back but back with such scentilating touches of his.

As for results, as much as pride was at stake but i don't think we need to read much from this game. Coaches try combinations and to be frank, i never was concerned with the outcome but how my boys combine and make things happen was my biggest priority. I don't care about people who are making noise about us failing to clinch this Mopani trophy...anyway, to them it's a huge achievement hence they always take it serious, if you are wondering who am i refering to, i am talking Fans of the only and only club that has won most trophies illegally.

I was impressed with the introduction of few young developments lads and it augurs well not only for OPFC but the country. Manyisa is another improved player.

Ernest please my brother, a o bathong! How many players will Hunt field on Wednesday from today's game. I fail to see how the reserves would lift the first team' spirit for Aces game.

Some if not over 80% of the players fielded by both sides will never kick the ball in anger this season. It was nice seeing prospects like left-back Siyabonga Zulu for Bucs. I mean even Krol was chilled at the stands and Hunt was facing downwards for the majority of the game!

Whats wrong with the Kaizer Chimps, they were saying we are going to win the Telkom Charity cup and the Kaizer Chimps won it and they said we are going to win the charity cup in Mbombela and Aces won it and they said we are going to Win Mopane charity cup and Supersport won in. After reading some of the comments on this story I can CONFIRM that Orlando Pirates fans are slow thinkers or they can't think at all. They always critisize other achievers, have excuses for OP failure and always expect OP to will the league forgeting that Soccer is business not entertainment only. It takes 30 games to win the league with price of R10 M while it takes 4 game to win MTN top 8 with price of R8 M and takes 8 game to win telkom knockout with price of R6M. Surely if you a smart business person you will know what matters the most there unless you just a fan that does not think or..........

Finally you say something I can agree with... I'm not an OP fan, not a hater either. I support KC and soccer in general and appreciate the competition other teams bring. I just find it a bit stupid to keep saying a lotta hypothetical stuff rather discussing what's the team doing right or wrong. It goes for any team, we supporters we tend to be too delusional.
