BIG test for Bafana at Mbombela Stadium

Bafana Bafana’s 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers kick off tonight against Niger at the Mbombela Stadium, and coach Pisto Mosimane hopes to start his road to Equatorial Guinea and Gabon in perfect fashion with a comprehensive home win.
Mosimane named a 25-man squad and drafted in five youngsters in Keegan Ritchie, Happy Jele Andile Jali, Daylon Claasen and Kermit Erasmus to gain experience.
But the big question is whether Mosimane will go with the youth or stick with the senior players.
There is a strong possibility that Mosimane will start with the same squad that played against Ghana at the FNB Stadium and maybe include one or two youngsters among his substitutes.
And despite some anger from some of the supporters, captain-my-captain Aaron Mokoena will lead the team in his 107th game, and will be key at the back for Bafana with his experience.
Niger may be ranked lower than Bafana, but they won’t be an easy team to beat and our midfielders will have to double their work-rate. Steven Pienaar will need to come to the party and showcase his class like at Everton with his speed, trickery and killer passes, while Siphiwe Tshabalala is another player fans will be hoping adds the missing spices in Bafana’s meal tonight.
Bafana will have to create as many goalscoring opportunities as they can and strikers like Katlego Mphela must be brutal and make sure they bury all chances. The ‘Ifs’ and ‘Buts’ mustn’t be used come end of the game as everyone knows the importance of winning at the Mbombela Stadium.
With that in mind, we reckon Mosimane will go with this starting line-up tonight:
Itumeleng Khune – Siboniso Gaxa, Bongani Khumalo, Aaron Mokoena, Tsepo Masilela – Steven Pienaar, Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Thanduyise Khuboni, Siphiwe Tshabalala – Bernard Parker, Katlego Mphela
