BIG test for Bafana at Mbombela Stadium

BIG test for Bafana at Mbombela Stadium

Posted: 2010-09-04 10:17

Bafana Bafana’s 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers kick off tonight against Niger at the Mbombela Stadium, and coach Pisto Mosimane hopes to start his road to Equatorial Guinea and Gabon in perfect fashion with a comprehensive home win.

Mosimane named a 25-man squad and drafted in five youngsters in Keegan Ritchie, Happy Jele Andile Jali, Daylon Claasen and Kermit Erasmus to gain experience.

But the big question is whether Mosimane will go with the youth or stick with the senior players.

There is a strong possibility that Mosimane will start with the same squad that played against Ghana at the FNB Stadium and maybe include one or two youngsters among his substitutes.

And despite some anger from some of the supporters, captain-my-captain Aaron Mokoena will lead the team in his 107th game, and will be key at the back for Bafana with his experience.

Niger may be ranked lower than Bafana, but they won’t be an easy team to beat and our midfielders will have to double their work-rate. Steven Pienaar will need to come to the party and showcase his class like at Everton with his speed, trickery and killer passes, while Siphiwe Tshabalala is another player fans will be hoping adds the missing spices in Bafana’s meal tonight.

Bafana will have to create as many goalscoring opportunities as they can and strikers like Katlego Mphela must be brutal and make sure they bury all chances. The ‘Ifs’ and ‘Buts’ mustn’t be used come end of the game as everyone knows the importance of winning at the Mbombela Stadium.

With that in mind, we reckon Mosimane will go with this starting line-up tonight:

Itumeleng Khune – Siboniso Gaxa, Bongani Khumalo, Aaron Mokoena, Tsepo Masilela – Steven Pienaar, Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Thanduyise Khuboni, Siphiwe Tshabalala – Bernard Parker, Katlego Mphela

Kickoff editors bayahlanya, how can they justify the inclusion of gaxa ahead of ngcongca in their line up?gaxa and mphela bashwele erasmus must be thrown into the sea with big fishs so that he can get experience coz these youngsters will never get experience sitting in the bench.jingles give these boys a chanse.TEKO....THE GENERAL MODISE IS WONDERFUL.

Aubrey Malungane : 2010-09-04 12:09

I am very confident about this line up but with the exception of Aaron mokoena, however Bafana will win by 3-0,as long as the will start with this line up.

Shakirah : 2010-09-04 12:29

Pitso "Mr media" mosimane, plz change things around don't dwell 2 much on parreira's first eleven, stamp ur authority and be felt jingles as u does in the media, insulting and lambasting king teko in the media,it will keep nagging u pitso usazonya.HADISHWE NTSHA TSENA.

Shakirah : 2010-09-04 16:21

Pitso's job is on the line,i can put my head on the block tonight bafana will win unconvincingly by 1 goal to zero and the goal will be scored late on the second half by none other than king teko himself, that's when jingles will realize that to bench teko was suicidal coz by then he would've rescued mosimane and the nation will be against pitso why he kept modise on the bench coz definately he will change the game.SHAKIRAH THE PREDICTOR HIMSELF.

Shakirah : 2010-09-04 16:28

Teko is more than a player kasesotho kere ke mopholusi,u can call him the redeemer.that's teko 4u love or hate him he is special, not to me only but to my fellow kickoff bloggers as well, the likes of tivani, king and others.TEKO...THE GOLDEN BOY OF MZANSI.

MR kickoff is a chimpanzeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

jali: 2010-09-04 19:23

I shall not concern myself with bufoonery that is for the fringe lunatics.Pitso should start up front with Killer& Parker,Steven just behind the two. That is the key to us scoring some goals and winning convincingly!!!!

manqoba mvemve : 2010-09-04 19:27

I hope Bafana will do us proud, they have come up a long way to fault here.

kweziMonti: 2010-09-04 19:56

Thats an interesting lineup you have there Mr Editor. However please find my starting lineup:

Khune - Ngcongca, Khumalo, Mokoena, Masilela - Pienaar, Sibaya, Khuboni, Tshabalala - Parker, Mphela.

The only two diffrences between you Mr Editor and my team is Ngcongca/Sibaya, those two guys have done very well over the past two Bafana games, more especialy Ngcongca he is very composed and makes good forward runs on the overlap, diffensively he is very solid.

As for Sibaya over the past two Bafana games he played his role to perfection but has a tendency of fading in the second half thats where Reneilwe can fit in.

Thats my subjective view, lets wait and see, maybe you know something I dont.

All the best Bafana!!!!!!!!

Mr editor again,I said maybe you know something I dont the thinking behind that statement was that you attended some Bafana training sessions before you picked your anticipated starting line, thinking that you saw something that we didnt.

Once again i want to stress this Sibaya is contributing positively to the team and he deserves to be starting Bafana games based on his current form and the teams perfomance.

Number 2, Ngcongca is the best right for the country currently based on his performances, he did it again.

I was filled with deep emotion when Sibaya competed and won the ball passed to Ngcongca who crossed the ball to Packer for our second goal, THE ONLY PERSON I WAS THINKING ABOUT WAS YOU MR EDITOR AND THE COMMENTS I WROTE BEFORE THE GAME.

IT FEELS GOOD TO KNOW THAT YOU KNOW SOMETHING, FOOTBALL RUNS IN MY BLOOD.
