Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Isaac Amoako claims the Porcupine Warriors can reclaim top honours in the Ghana league after they failed to finish in the top 4 last season.
Kotoko is among the traditional giants looking to usurp Aduana Stars’ strong hold on the domestic crown and Amoako believes the changes in the administrative personnel of the club and technical direction will seep through to the players on the field.
Amoako claims there is a wind of change blowing in the club that will reflect positively on the field. “We had a poor season last term but things are getting better, we have signed some really good players and we are determined to do well this year. We feel it is high time Kotoko win again and I am confident we can do it this season.”
Amoako will not be involved in the opening game of the league season as he is away with the Black Stars in Swaziland for a Nations Cup qualifier. But he is confident his colleagues back at home will begin in good form when they take on Kessben FC in the opening game.
The goalkeeper also expects competition for titles to be intense as ever before and reckons Hearts of Oak and AshantiGold plus Bechem Chelsea will be the front runners.
“I think one of the big boys will win this season but Becehm Chelsea for me remains the biggest outsiders. They have signed fantastic players.”
