Bucs game shifted to FNB Stadium

Posted: 2010-09-03 10:48

The League match between Orlando Pirates and Free State Stars scheduled for Wednesday, September 8, has been shifted from Orlando Stadium to FNB Stadium.

Kick-off time remains at 20h00.

The Mighty Buccaneers go into this match looking to record their second successive victory following their 2-1 win against Vasco da Gama in the opening weekend of the 2010/11 League season.

Stars will come to Johannesburg seeking their first victory of the season following their goalless draw against Santos.

The last time the two clubs met the match ended in a goalless draw – in fact both home and away fixtures last season ended in a draw.

The last time Bucs got the better of Ea Lla Koto was in the second round League fixture in the 2008/09 campaign when the Buccaneers won 1-0 courtesy of a Siphelele Mthembu header.

The most watched Team in Sub saharan AFRICA. shapa bucs shapaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

Soccer Critic ( Tivani ): 2010-09-03 11:21

Did you know statistics shows that Pirates is the MOST-WATCHED team in PSL? Soccer is more than a sport in South Africa and Africa as a whole: it’s a religion. With an estimated 22 million supporters, it is far and away the most popular sport in the country. According to a recent report released by the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), Orlando Pirates is the most-watched soccer team in the country with a market share of 9.2 percent. A slice of the pie this size indicates the interest and vibe generated by the Pirates brand. So powerful is the brand today that even supporters of other teams will watch the Superbrand Pirates. One would be hard-pressed to find a South African who didn’t visualise the skull and crossbones - and a soccer ball - when mentioning the word “Pirates”.

Champ "Superbrand": 2010-09-03 11:23

Lets go to the stadium Mabhakaniya to support the team, the league is our priority.

What the f*ck is wrong with the reporter or the editor for that matter, why do you tell us the reason for the game to be shifted, the level of incompetence is astounding to say the least!!

Tolly-ba-Thathe : 2010-09-03 11:54

Wa bona King, if there is something these intectually-challenged morons can't do is to destroy Teko. They can try hard and more harder, this player is a born star not converted 1 goal wonder we've heard nothing about since that goal. At least if it Katlego Mphela i wud understand.

Nosi : 2010-09-03 11:59

Our focus is on the leaque title. bla blah blah
since the departure of Lesley Manyathela we have been singing the same song. We are no stranger to this song from BARKS fans.
BARKS fans should go to the studio and record that song.(OUR MAIN FOCUS IS ON THE LEAGUE). blah blah blah.

Skara you are right, those chips idoits likes to comment on Bucs issues i dnt know why? Maybe they want our membership but they are welcome because we are recruting supporters for our development team and they will stand a chance to watch our juniour boys playing outside the country. We all know gore their development team is not doing well.

MightyKhosi: 2010-09-03 12:03

I understand Teko Modise wants to play for his childhood favourite Club, the Mighty Amakhosi ... He's fed up with the Mayfair Pirates.

Nosi : 2010-09-03 12:03

Where is our fourth official?
KING PIE Fans: where did you take our fourth official to?

Champ "Superbrand": 2010-09-03 12:16

@Nosi,

Even the last time we won the league, Kaizer Chiefs fans were saying this and that but we did it, with the youngest squad ever to win the league. In 1995 when we went all the way to even win the Super cup, Kaizer Chiefs fans did not even give us a chance. To this day Kaizer Chiefs fans have a memorial in that star never to doubt a super team like Orlando Pirates.

Super Bucs!

Super Cup! Yes, not NSL cups that Kaizer Chiefs list!

Superbrand!

You can join the Superbrand and stop mourning. We will remain the envy of teams here at mzansi for another 100years or more.

Champ "Superbrand": 2010-09-03 12:20

@MightyKhosi,

Teko is a very bright and gifted boy, thats a mistake he will never commit to play for Kaizer Chiefs. He knows he will retire poor if he can play for yChiefs, if he leaves Pirates he will rather join Sundowns. Anyway you cant afford Teko even if he is not contracted to the Superbrand.

Tivani

Do u know it's easy to spot a gay if you're also gay.
You say KO is biased, same with your comments and what irritates me worse you keep on repeating one thing over and over again.
You've been telling us that OP is the most watched, let's see if FNB will be half full on Wed.

YOU UNDERSTAND if you are going to understand such a thing, it means there is something wrong with your common sense, you need to have it checked, so that they can adjust it to be common.

You think Teko is like Tau

Edwin: 2010-09-03 14:02

The reason is simple, Pirates are very clever they wanted to check the condition of the pitch before they play chiefs 3 days later at the same venue, remember the last match played there was Boks and all blacks, so picth might not be favourable to soccer match as such.

Shapa tse ntsho, shapa!!!!!!!!

Its beter 4 pie-rats 2 check & familiarised demselves with de pitch 3 day b4 dey play chimpz, so dat wen dey lose wont point a finger @ de pitch condition. I want chimpz 2 lose badly coz dey talk 2 much but unfortunately dat cant happen coz pie-rats is utterly bull-****. Dat 1 is not a secrete, everybody knws!

i actually did nt believe that the pirates brand was actually amongst the biggest brands in south africa until i went 2 www.superbrands.com, wow wow wow. it shows that pirates is actually bigger than bafana bafana, springboks, and the proteas combined in terms of recognition world wide. realy pirates is huge
! the likes of absa, cocacola and vodacom are feeling our competition. chiefs and downs are small compared to pirates. its like a mouse(chiefs) vs an elephant(pirates).

Try and familiarise yourself with the pitch because next weekend you are in trouble.
