After starting the season on a low note being beaten 3-0 by Bidvest Wits in their opening League match, SuperSport United have been lifted by the news that Glen Salmon has recovered from his knee injury.
Salmon missed most of second half of last season due to his injury but good news for Matsatsantsa is that he is now back at training and fighting hard to regain full fitness ahead of their next League game against Mpumalanga Black Aces at the Atteridgeville Super Stadium next week.
Coach Gavin Hunt also reveals that goalkeeper Emille Baron has also started light training after recovering from a shoulder injury.
"Salmon has fully recovered and should be back soon. Baron is also back at training but it will take him a few more weeks before he is ready for action."
Hunt also expressed his happiness about the acquisition of goalkeeper Wayne Brown from England.
"Even though we have always had good goalkeepers, we were looking for an Andre Arendse type of goalkeeper and I am happy that we have finally found one in Brown. He has played football in one of the best leagues in the world and definitely brings a wealth of experience to the club."
Brown tells KickOff.com that he is already looking forward to helping SuperSport win their fourth League title in succession.
"I am very happy to join a club like SuperSport United and I am hoping to play a big role in the club’s success this season. I love the country; it is so beautiful. I am also settling in well and expecting my wife and daughter to join me here in South Africa soon."
