Smith may seek settlement

Posted: 2010-09-02 09:40

The case between Maritzburg United and striker Norman Smith that came before the Dispute Resolution Chamber yesterday has been postponed to September 29.

Smith has taken United to task for alleged unpaid salaries and termination of his contract without his consent.

The People's Team is alleged have tried to clear the former Golden Arrows striker to Jomo Cosmos without his consent.

The Kimberley-born striker's manager Machin Motloung however suggested that the player might agree to a settlement with the KwaZulu-Natal based side.

"Yes it is true the case was heard yesterday with Afzal Khan representing Maritburg United and that the case was postponed to September 29.

"There is a possibility of reaching a settlement because the only thing that Norman wants now is to play football and forget about his past problems with Maritzburg United."
