Dickson Etuhu has pulled out of Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar on Sunday with an ankle injury.

But the Nigeria squad was boosted with the arrival of Chelsea star John Mikel Obi, who trained with the rest of the team.

NFF Acting Chief Media Officer Robinson Okosun explained that Etuhu picked up the injury in Fulham's last Premier League match.

“Etuhu informed us about the injury, but we asked him to report here so our doctors could ascertain the severity of the injury.

"They confirmed the situation, but he will remain to support his team mates on Sunday.”

With Mikel's arrival, captain Joseph Yobo is the only player still being expected in camp.

The defender was given permission to finalise his move to Turkish giants Fenerbahce.

Yobo will join the team on Thursday morning.

That's a good news. At least now that a little change was made in the Team, we expect a different Result. Meanwhile, for some of you who try to undermine Madagascar, don't forget that African football is growing rapidly and there is nothing like "Underdogs" anymore. Well, i expect a great result for our team. I hope none of our players picks any sought of injury.

Hey you big belle NFF oficial has started the rubbish of calling unfit players to the camp.
The likes of Yobo is not fit and have not played since the beginning of the league only to find himself to Turkey because the french defender Distin have sidelined him and kelvin Etuhu is club less and they still call him to camp for what where have you seen him play this recent times since he was dropped by Manchester city for the past years he has not played because of knee injury and clubs in europe don't want him be cause he can only train twice a week because of the injury even the last time he went to Greece but they found out and release but is nigeria that called injured players to camp because of Godfatherism.
Change now before it is too late the PARAMOUNT KING JAVE SPOKEN WITH THE INSPIRATION FROM THE HOLY SPIRIT AND SO SHALL IT BE.

GO EAGLES GO 9JA WE ARE BEHIND YOU FOR TOGETHER WE ARE THE POWER OF 9JA.

Mr Promo.
Yes, there are still underdogs in football. If Ghana or Ivory Coast plays Madagascar 10 times, it will be a goal feast for these two countries for those ten times. It is only in Nigeria where we claim to be perennial powers and yet pray to avoid meeting other teams that are our class. I remember the days of Amodu-who claim to be the best coach Nigeria ever had since Christ walked on the water- He will start his remarks by reminding us that there are no minnows in football. This was his way of bracing us to accept his piss poor performance.
Those days are gone. It is either we accept that we are minnows, or go out there and prove that we are still a perennial power to be reckoned in Africa.

Are we watching the end Joseph Yobo's career? Please visit "youtube" and search: "joseph yobo and istanbul." Tell me what you think of the reception he received from the fans. then compare that reception to the reception mamadou niang received when the same team signed him a few weeks back. i just hope yobo did not rush into this loan deal without weighing his options. in 2007, emre, a turkish player was fined by the english fa for using racist language on yobo. the same guy is in the team yobo has just been loaned to, fernebache. and yobo was asked on youtube about that incident. i wonder if he considered his options before agreeing to this deal. i do not think, based on what i saw on youtube, yobo will be welcomed at fernebache. if he ends up on the bench again, that will be the close of the window to his career. age-wise, he is still young at 29, but let's hope he succeeds in turkey. i wish all the best, joe.
