Danny Jordaan continued his travels with the Fifa World Cup inspection team in Barcelona on Wednesday, meeting with Lionel Messi and other stars from the club one day after a handshake with Jose Mourinho and Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid.

Jordaan is a consultant to the five-man Fifa team who are checking the credentials of the candidates for the 2018/2022 candidacy.

Jordaan has already travelled to Australia, Russia and England and will still go the USA and Qatar before the mission is completed.

The Fifa inspectors head to New York on Monday to begin a three-day tour of five of the cities included in the U.S. bid to host the World Cup in 2018 or 2022.

They will begin its tour in New York and also travel to Washington, DC, Miami, Dallas and Houston. Visits are planned to proposed stadiums for all five markets: the New Meadowlands Stadium for New York/New Jersey, FedExField for Washington D.C., Sun Life Stadium for Miami, Cowboys Stadium for Dallas, and Reliant Stadium for Houston.

In addition to stadiums included in the US bid, the delegation will visit proposed training sites and Fan Fest venues, as well as hotels and media facilities.

They will visit convention centers that might serve as venues for the various events held around the World Cup: preliminary and final-round draw and Fifa congress.

US Soccer will kick off of the tour with a private welcoming reception at the St. Regis Hotel in New York City.

Representatives of all 18 U.S. cities in the bid will attend.

Harold Mayne-Nicholls, the president of the Chile Football Association, heads the FIFA delegation.

This is the right man for CAF presidency - not the Khoza whose is driven purely by greedy. As South Africans, we must start to appreciate ourselves. If you can track down the coaches that once coached our national team, are highly sought after by European team.

I won't be suprised if Santana lands a job for a biggest team in Europe. African football needs proper administration and the capable candidate fos such job is no one else but Jordaan himself. As for Khoza, OP is one of the biggest teams in SA but is poorly managed, if he fails to manage his team successfully, what about continental body?

Wow, I wonder how much is Jordaan paying the author of this article? This smacks of nothing but praise singing. "meeting with Lionel Messi and other stars from the club one day after a handshake with Jose Mourinho and Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid".
Really now, did we need to hear all of this? Reminds me of the KFC advert where the kids boisterously tell their class mates what they did over the weekend.

This is good. With the 2010 FIFA world cup still fresh in his mind, the roles for Mr Jordaan are now reversed, hes nw the one assessing and checking the candidates. Talk bout living a legacy of the world cup, coz i dnt think he was going to be there if the world cup hadnt be hosted in Mzansi. Well done FIFA, well done LOC
