Binkin apologises to Sundowns

Football agent Glyn Binkin has sent a letter to Mamelodi Sundowns apologizing for the media utterances he vented at the club recently.
Binkin’s relationship with Sundowns took a turn for the worse when he and Rob Moore apparently moved Siboniso Gaxa from Belgian side KAA Gent where he was on trial last week to Lierse SK leaving Sundowns in the dark. Sundowns pointed out in a statement on Friday that Gaxa had been moved without their knowledge, a move they claimed “appalled” the Gent management, who in turn cancelled the trial. Binkin and Moore later apologized in a statement to KickOff.com.
Binkin has taken it further, though, bearing in mind the ongoing debacle regarding some of his dealings with Sundowns. Besides the issue of Gaxa, Binkin has slated Sundowns previously on matters regarding Manqoba Ngwenya, among others, accusing the club of holding on to the player who had been warming the bench, prompting Sundowns to finally respond a few weeks ago accusing him of causing “confusion” when he claimed they had turned down R4 million for Gaxa from Lierse. Now that the Gaxa saga is water under the bridge after he signed a three-year deal with Lierse, Binkin has moved to make things right with Sundowns.
“To the management and board of Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club, I hereby unconditionally apologise for any conduct that may have been inappropriate in respect of the ongoing situation regarding my client, Siboniso Gaxa, with specific reference to the fact that the player was moved from Gent on Friday prior to the completion of his trial period at the club,” Binkin notes.
“I further apologise for any media utterances that may have been disrespectful to the relevant persons at the club. When one becomes emotionally involved in such transactions as I have been in respect of Siboniso, one often says things on the spur of the moment which one later regrets and I apologise for any inconvenience that this may have caused. In retrospect I realise that the club has acted in the players interest and in that of his career,” he concludes.
