Asamoah Gyan is thrilled to finally get the chance to play in the English Premiership after completing his record £13m move to Sunderland.
Gyan spent transfer deadline day in the north-east of England finalising the terms of a new four year contract and declared he can’t wait to get started.
Gyan could make his debut for the club on September 11 against Wigan after the international break and is particularly delighted to play for a club he says has incredible fans.
“It’s been a long day but finally I am happy to be here and my family and friends are also happy for me. My family is in England and I am happy this is the right place for me,” he said.
“The Sunderland coach has faith in me because he has been following me for two years now. I am pleased I have the opportunity to come to England.”
