Johannes signs for Pirates

Posted: 2010-08-31 20:38

Former Under-23 national team captain Robyn Johannes has completed his move to Orlando Pirates.

Johannes, who endured torrid time at Mamelodi Sundowns without game time last season, has signed a three-year contract with Pirates.

The Cape-Town born defender’s manager Glyn Binkin has confirmed that the player is now the Mighty Buccaneers’ property.

Its a good move for the guy considering that his talent was not utilised at Sundowns and Pirates were a long time admires of the player. Welcome home Robie!

Congratulations Sundowns for proving that you are not destroying players careers, as usually purported.Johannes is a classy player, hence I do not understand how you failed to see the potential in Michael Morton ( who should have been part of a swap deal, afterall we already have the REAL Jali ).That boy - Morton - is a reincarnation of Eric Tinkler. With Nyandoro over the hill,he was going to form one of the best partnerships with Pattison.

KidKudu7: 2010-08-31 21:54

Good move once again by Pirates management. We need a trophy & positive results now.

Welcome to Bucs family Robyn, I hope your dreams came through as you said before that the only team that you are willing to play for is Bucs, even Bucs fans we were looking foward to have you at Bucs, I don't know whatz the problem with those monkrels of Kaisa Chimps, they are always complaining about our teams issues. Rona ko Bhakaniya we are signing good players then loaning our development players to have a good game time. So, Kaisa Chimps what are you going to do with plenty of players you promoted to you Spaza Seniour Team? They are going to end up warming up the bench and your team is going to end up not benefiting anything! So lesang go bua Masepa and concentrate in Kaisa Chimpz! Shappa Bhakajuju Shappaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Champ "Superbrand": 2010-09-01 08:20

Welcome Robyn!!! When given a chance, dont be like Mabena. This is a big superbrand team, its not Sundowns. Make use of the opportunity when you get it. I know there will be suspensions and injuries, so make your mark, its all in your hands.

Champ "Superbrand": 2010-09-01 08:22

In another sensetional news, Kaizer chiefs loaned all the players which were promoted recetly to vodacom league in order to reduce the 43 men squad to be managable. He he he he!!!! Tata Naturena village!!!

Its not a secret that Pirates hasnt won a major trophy in ages but why doesnt that bother the Bucs supporters? the answer is simple, Most Pirates fans are soccer loving fans, no matter how bad things can be, we always see the positive side of things. This is why at the begining of each season we hope and with the new signings will make a differnce and bring back the happy days.

Whirlst on the other hand you get some supporters supporting certain teams for stupid reason like its a family legacy-my great grandad was supporting the team, its the most supported team in SA, The team got money. And when its not doing good they are so quick to shift the blame.

Robin Johannes welcome to the Bucs ship, i now blieve we got atleast a solid defence to provide cover for our goal minder. back to my first point i made... This Pirates teams gives me hope that things might start to change and i will remain hopeful

It is not a secret my brother because even a 10yrs old child can witness that.
If they are soccer loving people, why they burnt stadium?
The hope at the begining of the season that you will win something? I thought you will finish the statement and say and we dont win anything but at the beggining of each year we hope we gonna win something.
This hope is only practiced by people who are not sobber in thier minds...
For ten years now with the same hope...something is wrong in those fans.
Ohh, I nearly forget, CHIBUKU is the problem in thier minds.
Chibuku gives hope when hope seems hopeless
CHIBUKU is soo STRONG!

Sweyts: 2010-09-01 10:59

Mooiloop Robyn, groete almal by die spoeke! Laags!

Just make sure that you cost them a game or two like you always did at Downs when given a run, make sure they assist you on your aerial side of your game because it's not on to duck as a defender when the ball could have been headed away to safety.

And lastly, your finishing is appaling, Khhuni even went as far as giving you an open net to finish, but you defended instead.

Anyway good luck Johannes, Barks is a better choice for Dawana's to stomach...unlike Endlaleni fc.

thivhu: 2010-09-01 09:41 [ Report ]

Eh poppa...

We are so hopeful and dont even realized it been 10yrs, wow thats really a while but i think we still stand a chance. There was once a "big" team that went 12years without a leaugue trophy, that on its own is a motivation to Pirates. We still within "the best of the worst". U mentioned Burning the Stadium, oh jah i remember that, i wonder if that idiot is still alive. talk about the fans being under the influence, i remember in FNB stadium some team was playing Cosmos(FINAL), the game had to be stopped, and then there was a time some team played under lock and Key because their fans were classified as Hooligans-and i can assure u it wasnt Maradonnas followers nor Pirates Fans. Did i also mentioned which teams supporters made the game to be stopped in Capetown last season against Ajax?

U are the 1 who went down Memory lane, there are so many of them.Zola Majavu has a disciplinary template in his office" Hooligan Fans"

I hope all these things were not done by ur team...

Love soccer more than ur team and then you will understand it more. Well this is not a personal attack but you can take it as one.

and i am not drunk YET!!!!

Champ "Superbrand": 2010-09-01 11:13

@LTKZ #22,

You tell it as it is. No insult nothing. But watch the Kaizer Chiefs hooligans will attack you for telling the truth.

Champ "Superbrand": 2010-09-01 11:16

@Sweyts,

Remember what many of you guys said about Mhlongo. Finished madala, he was costing Sundowns games anyway. Robyn is still young he will rectify his mistakes.

Champ "Superbrand": 2010-09-01 11:33

@vision - Asprilla,

I can bet, Kaizer Chiefs wont win the league this season even with the help of match officials. The teams with the potential to win it this season are Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns and an outside chance for Suppersport. The likes of Ajax, Wits and Santos could suprise. But not Chiefs, not this season. Maybe if they can bring good quality players midway. But abo Shabba they are way overrated odinery players.

Champ "Superbrand": 2010-09-01 12:04

@tsitsitsetsa,

You cant afford to start without Teko and Oturogu. But the problem everyone in that list is very good. Eish but Krol still play Mabena and Mbuyane and the next thing he will bring in Masina. I am glad, Mdluli is no more, Krol was going to throw him in at every opportunity.

thabo: 2010-09-01 14:47

Took this from Superbrands:

"Soccer is more than a sport in South Africa:
it’s a religion. With an estimated 22 million
supporters, it is far and away the most popular
sport in the country. According to a recent report
released by the South African Broadcasting
Corporation (SABC), Orlando Pirates is the
most-watched soccer team in the country with a
market share of 9.2 percent. A slice of the pie this
size indicates the interest and vibe generated by
the Pirates brand. So powerful is the brand today
that even supporters of other teams will watch
the Superbrand Pirates."

lunga: 2010-09-01 16:00

Robyn thanx for joining the pretenders now you will learn how to run and believe me you are going to be faster than the Jabulani ball.Infact the ratties can out run the ball, since mzala!! As for the miners eish kunzima bashov'ingolovane hence the cramps.Hayi no more late shifts for you at Downmines.

Ginger: 2010-09-01 17:13

Ahh..the end of ur career right there.Finished!!Not that i care though...

K-lab: 2010-09-01 18:23

Well as long as dey knw dat signing plyrs wil not win dem cup,bt only scoring goals, best goalminders nd gud defence.

Nd if u happen to hav good relationship with de match officials u might make it,luk @ Naturena FC,in their first league match dey r awarded a penalty, what for? Wel for preventing Ngcobo frm scoring a goal.
Hard luck Arrows, nxt tym remember it pays to hav gud relationships wit evry1 especially those who can make or break u.

What i'm saying is,it won't help 2 hav gud relationship wit de president, more specially if he's not even interested in ur team wether it loses or not ,as long as he can hav ur dau...ter.

Anyway gud luck wit ur nxt cursed team.

K-lab: 2010-09-01 18:33

Johannes for Pie-city hahahaaaa!

I wonder wat value will he add,wen he'll be on de bench.
Celtic can prepare themselves for another loan frm Pie-city.

Be warned Johannes there u'll get an injury dat will only heal wen u join Celtic on loan.

Hayi kodwa iCeltic iyazithanda izikweliti.
Khona which trophy will dey lift with debts nd loans, only Mangaung Cup shame poor celtic.

No wonder dey don't appear in Telkom Charity, cauz u can not loan a call or sms.
A rumour has it that even their fans have been loaned frm relegated clubs lyk Jomo cosmos, dynamos,Zulu royals, black leopards nd now dey r negotiating with Umlilo,bt ppl frm de Cape seem to b tough.

Da Ngwane Boy : 2010-09-01 22:25
