Umony moves to Tuks

University of Pretoria have bolstered their squad by snatching Ugandan striker Brian Umony from city neighbours SuperSport United on a permanent transfer.

Umony has become surplus to requirements at SuperSport just after a season and will now have to take the step down to the First Division for the new season after failing to win a move to Maritzburg United.

The 21-year-old has signed a one-year deal with TUKS that will run in collaboration with the year that he had remaining on his SuperSport contract.

SuperSport commercial manager Jose Ferreira confirms that Umony has left on a permanent transfer.

"It is outright and he now belongs to TUKS," says Ferreira.

SuperSport have already exhausted their foreign quota after re-signing Ethiopian striker Fikru Tefera in an attack line that already has Jose Perreira, Glen Salmon, Thabo Mongalo and Kermit Erasmus.

Tefera's arrival also pushed Umony down the pecking order.
