Agogo to consider move from Forest

Posted: 2008-02-12 14:01

Junior Agogo says he will consider a move away from Nottingham Forrest in the summer amidst reports of interest from several clubs.

Latest reports in England have linked the 28 year old with a 2.5-million pound move to Portsmouth where he could link up with national teammate Sulley Muntari.

Agogo has been keen to stress he is happy at Nottingham Forrest but says he will consider any move in the summer that will give him the opportunity to play at a higher level.

“I will go back to Forrest and give my all for the rest of the season. I have played in front of the fans there every week and the club has showed me great love. But obviously I want to play at the highest level and I hope my performance at the African Nations Cup has proved I can do that”, he told KickOffGhana.com.

Agogo scored three times to finish as joint top scorer of the Ghana team and gained all round plaudits for his hard work and willingness to battle for 90minutes. They are qualities that his agent Saif Rubie says has drawn interest from several clubs including some from mainland Europe.

Guys!Guys!Guys! I must admit i like the way you take each other, and its people like you that makes soccer interesting with your comments and stories. But guys plaese give Agogo a chance and he will proof you all wrong. He is big strong and he's got speed. Just watch the space....

Phakamisa: 2008-02-12 15:47

Saddam, compare Agogo's performance with your favourate strikers (Eto'o and Drogba or ever the case might be in this AFCON) and tel me if Agogo did'nt play well in this tournament.

patrick wa-bi--sha!!

dion: 2008-02-12 17:12

agogo had a great tournament BUT he can never be compared to stars like drogba and eto;whats even worse he is playing at the lower leagues in england, that says a lot for him at the age of 28

Tshifhiwa: 2008-02-13 08:34

I have to agree with The Proffesor on this one, i don't understand the hype aroung Agogo. I think he is just a normal physical stiker who doesn't deserve to play in Europe but can play for useless teams like Chips and Pie-rats. Manucho was the best for me. I would give him the young player of the year award.

patrick: 2008-02-13 08:47

The fact is AGOGO is contemplaiting on a move 2 a higher league just like both Drogba n eto'o once did.whats the holabaloo about it u profesa idiot?give him chance i mean he has marketed himself.jalous idiot.

nwako: 2008-02-13 08:59

yahah Agogo is atype of striker who can do at the highest level.

Elia: 2008-02-13 09:12

Agogo has proved himself that he can be a good striker only given a chance. He is quick and strong, and he can hold the ball as well. I can not compare him with Eto or Drogba because that was his first appearance on this tournament. Drogba didn't play well for this tournament and I think he didn't take this tournament serious. I didn't see his committment.

ceci: 2008-02-13 13:10

Thr isnt much difference btwn Agogo and other Superstars. They all went throgh the similar path to get established.its only that Agogo came into spotlight a bit late but who knows what future has for him.Cum on guys he had a gud tourney unlike more established guys in the lyks of Eto'o who although is a top goal scorer,he banged the netwhile playing against weak oppositions and penalities. As for Didier I can excuse him because we all know that he nearly failed to turn due injury
