Celtic chasing Mthembu

Posted: 2010-08-31 07:36

Bloemfontein Celtic are racing against time to sign Orlando Pirates striker Siphelele Mthembu before midnight when the transfer window period closes.

Celtic, who are searching for a reputable striker after their strike force fired blanks in recent games, were late yesterday locked in negotiations with Pirates to bring Mthembu to Celtic this season.

Phunya Sele Sele CEO Ike Augousti confirms that his team will be announcing one more player before lunch today and Mthembu could have attended his last training session with the Mighty Buccaneers yesterday.

"I can't reveal names but yes Mthembu might be the possibility."

Augousti said his club will continue to play without a sponsor on their jersey until October after their relationship with Vodacom came to an end.

MTN is rumoured to be taking over as the main sponsor of Siwelele this season.

"I think the official announcement will be made in October but at this stage I can't reveal the name of the sponsor until the company makes an official statement themselves."

he must go, Floyed fought day and night for this average player, what a waste, but the last time I checked Celtics did not have a coach, so who's buying him L****n or Ike? SA football at it's best, his career is finished, they will get a coach who will bench him!

KidKudu7: 2010-08-31 07:56

No man, Mthembu should remain @ Pirates.

Once a Chiefs fan always a Fool: 2010-08-31 08:03

Mthembu is a great striker who needs a right coach. He should stay at Pirates.

Hayifambe boet,u r jus average like imbuduma (Mabena),pliz take him wit u,i cant blame Krol on this one coz Shaka was given enough chances 2 impress bt failed. This boy cant even trap da ball,Mbuyane mus also return 2 FSS.This goes 2 show that he used bucs n chips 2 launch himself,Heita King, wats yo take on Krol's tactics?

Raphael Raphicky: 2010-08-31 08:41

This story is so funny. This is the same player which two big teams in the South African league were fighting for. What has he contributed to Pirates???? NOTHING. And now he is going to be let go to either Celtic or whatever?? He came empty handed to Pirates and has left empty handed.

Thank God Pirates singed this cow ahead of Chiefs...

We would be sitting with a liability...

I wonder if Pirates has enough kraal for it's cows, Mbuyane, Mthembu, Mabena...list is endless

Big Dude: 2010-08-31 08:50

Ike, we do not need a striker. We have 4 strikers already - Ndilula, Mulenga, Paulse, Ndlovu. We need a defender. You should be chasing after Derrick Spencer instead

Hands off Soccer Critic (Tivani) chimpanzees. He is not going anywhere. The guy is talking the truths you just want to monopolise this forum with your chipz foolish ideas. Tivani we are with you all the way as the Bucs family keep hitting them where it hurt most i.e underbelt. If they want to quit they can do so and blog in their own teams websites if they have the facilities.

Pirates ka boblack, red and white forever.

Gee: 2010-08-31 10:03

You should have stayed put, all that fighting and now it looks like you'll dumped to the needy, eish.

@King how does it feel to be "King" but you actually a follower not a leader. You follow Tivani, aren't you supposed to be "King" the leader or had you always been a fake-king?lol!

Gee: 2010-08-31 10:41

@King
You have a point, making such good points King contradicts with your statements to support & kill for Tivani, unless you just being foolish & just wanna spite Kaizer Chiefs fans my brother, I mean that guy know how to work on my nerves.

A lot of us here are not being real, I respect Sundowns, Pirates, Swallows, SS and I support Chiefs. I will tease when they fumble but truth be told, they are worthy nemesis. SA soccer would not be the same without them.

Abby: 2010-08-31 11:11

Ernest give us news man. Mthembu has already signed a one year loan deal with Celtic... there you have it, make it your story.

fire: 2010-08-31 18:46

This will be a good move for the boy.He needs a change of scenery. After the brouhaha that followed his signing, he needs to focus on football, away from the limelight.

fire: 2010-08-31 18:53

We are all entitled to ignore bloggers whose views we disagree with.Tivani does his research sometimes and I respect him for that.Breaking down the Kaizer Chiefs players' age was a masterstroke. He is entitled to freedom of speech like all those who keep insulting our mothers.
