Siasia's Nigeria appointment on hold

Posted: 2010-08-30 14:43

The appointment of Samson Siasia as the new coach of the Super Eagles has been put on hold after the elections into the executive board of the NFF (Nigeria Football Federation), and to allow Austin Eguavoen full concentration ahead of Saturday's Africa Nations Cup qualifier against Madagascar.

The newly-elected board of the NFF is expected to hold its inaugural meeting in Abuja on Wednesday and top of the agenda will be the engagement of a substantive coach for the national team.

Top officials disclosed that the board plan to consult the handover notes of the previous board as it concerns their discussions with Siasia.

However, a final decision and presentation will have to wait until after the weekend clash against Madagascar.

Meanwhile new NFF President Aminu Miagari told Goal.com that the decision will be based on the former board's earlier decision. “I am sure it’s going to be part of the board's earlier decision which we will tell Nigerians very soon.”

It had been expected that Siasia would be announced as the new Super Eagles coach this week, but the NFF elections have slowed down the procedure.

These clowns have started their HIDE & SEEK again. I don't really know why those DEVILs at the glass house don't really have feelings for the country of their birth? They waent ahead to conduct their own election despite court's injuction not to go ahead. And now, they deem it fit to put on hold to announce the appointment of the new coach. Why can't they put on hold their on election too when there were some aggrieve members who sought for JUSTICE by getting the court order to stop the SELECTION called election. God go punish you all! And over 150m souls will hunt you till you get to your graves! Thief!! Barawo! Ole!!!!!!

Sarah: 2010-08-30 16:29

THUNDER FIRE YOU ALL. IDIOTS ......WHY DELAYING TO HAND OVER.

gunnerbode: 2010-08-30 17:07

I believe FERVENTLY that Siasia is never a Messiah. He is not as good as some gullible minds would want the world to believe. Time will tell. NFF blokes should protect its interest so that there will be no big compensation or court cases when he is fired.

Kerewa: 2010-08-30 17:53

@gunnerbode, it doesnt matter what u believe in. The spirit of many Nigerians are with him, Let him be there first, Then lets wait for the disaster later. He has not entered and u are already seeing disaster. Who is the messiah then??? If the desirable is not available, cant we make the available desirable??? I believe the guy must have his programs all laid down. We have talents everywhere, from Albania to Vietnam. The earlier we start, the better for us. 2014 is already here and the qualifiers, will be tougher than 2010.

elzo: 2010-08-30 18:07

I don't care if Siasia has detractors or people who do not trust in his ability to deliver. Note: success has many fathers but failure is an orphan. Siasia's coaching pedigree glows with the light of success, and Nigerians believe him. He is a successful coach! Period. Only the blind and narrow-minded will question his record and achievement as a coach. Personally, I know he will deliver. NFF, make hay while the sun shines! Appoint this young man our head coach please! One naija forever!!!

GOOD DAY TO YOU MY FELLOW NIGERIANS I WANT TO ASK YOU ALL THIS QUESTION FOR HOW LONG IS IT GOING TO TAKE YOU THE GLASS HOUSE PEOPLE TO STOP THIS FOOLING, EACH DAY PASSES WITHOUT ONE READING ANY THING GOOD ABOUT OUR COUNTRY, FOR LONG NOW YOU HAVE BEING PUTTING ON HOLD THE APPOINTMENT OF SISAIA IF YOU PEOPLE DON'T WANT TO GIVE IT TO HIM KINDLY DO INFORMED HIM AND STOP ALL THIS FOOLING,DO YOU THINK THAT WE ARE FOOLS TO GO WITH YOU ALL WHEN YOU SAID THE FORMER AND THE NEW BOARD AS LONG AS I KNOW THERE WAS NO ELECTION AS AMINU MIAGARI IS STILL THE HEAD OF THE BOARD, I WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT YOU CAN NEVER FOLL ME, WHEN LULU SANNI WAS SACK THIS AMINU MIAGARI AND HIS GROUPS SAID THAT NONE OF THEM WILL RUN FOR THE ELECTION BUT TODAY WHAT HAPPEN,

Nigeria!!!!!!!! Nigeria!!!!!! Nigeria!!!!!!!. When should things start to be done accordingly in Nigeria?. I don't even support the choice the so called Aminu Miagari as we really need thoroughly changes in the Glass. We must now look forward to see the ability of those in charge, but as for breaking the heart of Nigeria Foot ball lovers, GOD Almighty will surely reward you people with bad thing in your families one by one till you people but interest on moving Nigeria football forward.

Nonsense!!!!!!!. As further as Local coach is concerned, Siasia is the best so far and I really hope he delivers. I just don't know what to refer those who has been spoken bad thing against Siasia as, because his record so far show that he is far class than every other local coaches. Loosing in Egypt with under 21 doesn't mean anything. After all all the world class coaches use to loose match, ask Ferguson and Co. In addition, he did not take the under 21 job in time. Apart from that Sisia use to reach finals of every tournament he attended as a coach.

Sarah: 2010-08-30 21:21

MY PEOPLE THIS IS WHAT WE ARE EXPECTING FROM SIASIA.

Something different could happen in Nigeria, where there are very many good talents. So many exciting young prospects in the big leagues in Europe and also playing locally. It is time that players like Yobo, Martins, Rabiu Afolabi, ****tu, Utaka, Odiah,
Yakubu, Uche and Etuhu make way for the young players. We should start planning for Brazil 2014 now, as it's done in Europe.

The problem in the Super Eagles is the lack of organization.Nigeria should have a serious plan. They should give priority to the Home Based National Team until December 2012.After this period, Nigeria will know if local players can play at competitive
level, and then incorporate foreign talents to the National Team.

Daniel Adejo, Lukman Haruna, John Obi Mikel, Harmony Ikande, Victor Obinna,Muhammad Shagari Victor Anichebe, Solomon Okpako, Ahmed Musa, Osas Idehen,Terna Suswan, Sani Emmanuel, Fortune Chukwudi, Deji Joel, stanly Okoro and Ramon Azeez are the future Super Eagles.

Nigeria needs players who are proud to defend the national colours. There are so many potential Super Eagles players waiting to answer the national call.

Wonder shall never end. Sani Lulu and his gangs are fooling every 9JA. What a greattext APRIL FOOL is this? We were hoping that things will be better than before and it seems that things are gonna go from bad to worst. Maigari became the president of NFF from an unrecognised election.

The same people with full of criminalities went ahead to conduct their own election despite court's injuction not to go ahead. What a shameful thing is this? What is delaying the appointment of Siasia as the new coach of the Super Eagles? Or are they looking for a way to kick out Siasia as the coach and appoint a foreign coach where they can benefits from his sign on fees and bonus?we all knows that Siasia is the man to lead eagles. So lets give him the chance to take our football to the promised land.

Go Siasia because Baron has blessed you and so shall it be.

I hope we are going to learn from history. Delay is dagerous. I am sorry I do not like Eguavon as a coach. He has no originality. He is not even a good assistant. He was a good player and I do not see where it says that a good player will make a good coach. There is what is called coaching talent he does not have one. I wish him luck anyway in te forthcoming game as long as he is not going there to set Siasia up for failure.
