Obafemi Martins and Femi Ajilore became the first of Nigeria's foreign legion to arrive the country ahead of this weekend's 2012 African Nations Cup qualifier against Madagascar.
Fifteen players from Europe and 11 domestic players have been called up by stand-in Nigeria coach Austin Eguavoen.
Of that number, only three of the local lads had reported by Sunday night, with the rest expected to turn in early in the week, according to NFF Media Officer Robinson Okosun.
"We expect the majority of the players to be in camp by the beginning of the week," Okosun said.
"They all called in to say they would report right after their matches this weekend.
"So far, though, Martins and Ajilore have arrived and should train with the home-based players later today."
One player who will not be reporting is Joseph Akpala, who picked up an injury playing for his club.
His place has been taken by former Under-17 starlet Stanley 'Little Messi' Okoro.
