Strike cancels Vodacom League

Posted: 2010-08-28 18:30

Safa has shot themselves in the foot by cancelling all the Vodacom League matches at the eleventh hour because of the referees strike.

The messages to notify the teams of the late cancellation were sent after midday on Friday, saying that all the matches had been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances “beyond our control”.

Vodacom League official Jabulani Ndobe, who communicated the cancellation message to the teams, refused to comment, saying only that all the enquiries should be directed to the Vodacom League referees chairman.

“Yes, all the Vodacom League matches for this week have been postponed, but please direct any questions you have to the referees chairman Ace Kinta.”
