All eyes will be on Vasco da Gama this evening when they make their Premier League debut this evening against Orlando Pirates at the Cape Town Stadium.
Kick-off is 18h00.
The match will be the first fixture in the 2010/11 League season and will also feature as part of a double-header at the Mother City's World Cup Stadium, with Ajax Cape Town and Bloemfontein Celtic set to do battle at the same venue later in the evening.
Vasco finished top of the Coast Stream of the First Division and proceeded to defeat Inland Stream winners Black Leopards 3-2 on aggregate to secure promotion to the top tier of South African football.
Captain and long serving midfielder Keenin Lesch scored the decisive penalty against Lidoda Duvha in the second leg to see Vasco triumph.
Pirates finished in fifth place in last season's League. They racked up 44 points from their 30 matches – 13 points adrift of champions SuperSport United.
The Buccaneers started off their 2010/11 season with a win last weekend, defeating Santos 2-1 in the quarter-finals of the MTN8.
Pirates scored their goals through Isaac Chansa and new signing Daine Klate. They will face arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs in the semifinals next month.
As this is Vasco's first appearance in the top flight of South African football, there are no previous meetings between themselves and Pirates.
Ajax Cape Town and Bloemfontein Celtic will complete a double header when they meet for their 20h45 kick-off.
Ajax finished seventh in last season's League, amassing 42 points from their 30 matches.
The Urban Warriors began their 2010/11 season on a high last weekend when they put Mamelodi Sundowns out of the MTN8 on penalties after their quarterfinal ended in a 1-1 draw after extra time.
Celtic came home in sixth place on the League table last season, claiming 42 points from their 30 matches.
Phunya Sele Sele began their 2010/11 season with a defeat, as they went down 1-0 at the hands of Kaizer Chiefs in their MTN8 quarter-final played at the Rand Stadium last Saturday.
In head-to-head stats, there is little to choose between Ajax and Celtic, as both teams have claimed six wins against one another in their 16 league meetings since the 1999/2000 season.
Last term, Ajax claimed a 1-0 home win in the first half of the season, but Celtic gained revenge in the return fixture with a 4-2 win of their own in Bloemfontein.
