Former Golden Arrows defender Sakhile Mhlangu has resurfaced from the wilderness after sealing a one-year deal with Thanda Royal Zulu.
Mhlangu was handed his clearance at Arrows in June last year and has since been in the doldrums, only playing for Amabinneplaas in the Cosafa Senior Challenge while keeping fit with lower divisions teams in his home town of Pietermaritzburg.
Thanda manager Peter Koutroulis tells KickOff.com of their latest signing, saying: “We have signed Sakhile because we trust that he will come into our team and make a difference with the experience he has from playing in the PSL. The coach is mixing youth with experience.”
The 27-year-old spent six years at Arrows, making 84 starts for the club before he was released by then-coach Manqoba Mngqithi.
The Richards Bay club has already brought in Phumudzo Manenzhe, Billy Ratsoana, Edward Malinga and Tampungu Dikete as part of the cast of players that have previously played in the PSL.
