AmaZulu fullback Marc van Heerden will be sidelined for at least two more months after undergoing recent knee surgery.
Van Heerden (21), suffered a serious ligament injury during the club's first week of pre-season training last month and was taken for an operation.
Club officials say it will be at least two more months before the defender can resume training.
He is still walking with the aid of crutches after the surgery but returned to Durban for rehabilitation work this week after a break at home in Johannesburg.
Van Heerden, who missed last season's Nedbank Cup final through suspension, had trials in Greece in May.
AmaZulu will also be missing the services of Dumisani Ngwenya, who underwent knee surgery during the off season.
He is expected to be out until October.
