The South African Players Union is currently facilitating the repayment of outstanding salaries to African Warriors players who have complained about not getting paid last month.
Sapfu spokesman Cappy Matutoane confirmed to KickOff.com this morning that the matter of outstanding salaries had been drawn to his attention and that he had met with the Free State club boss Jabu Khumalo last week.
Matutoane said Khumalo indicated that there was a cash problem but gave the union an assurance that the matter would be sorted out in order to prevent it going before the Dispute Resolution Chamber.
Khumalo then undertook to submit a proposal to the union on how this would be done, but Matutoane admitted that by this morning he had not received any documentation.
The cash crisis at the First Division club was disclosed to KickOff.com by one of Warriors' players who asked to remain anonymous.
The player said after they failed to get salaries last month, they complained and although Khumalo had not addressed the issue personally, the coach later told them that the money would be transferred into their account, but this had not happened.
"Things are serious. The land lord wanted to chase me away since I have no money to pay for rent. The furniture shop was also running after me but fortunately I explained to them that they will get their money before the end of the months as we have been promised."
Khumalo told KickOff.com that the 'rumours' were 'just malicious' and that everything was 'fine' at the club with the coach preparing to next season.
