SuperSport United's new signing Dipsy Selolwane has warned his teammates not to underestimate Malawi in the ir 2012 African Nations Cup qualifier at the Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on Wednesday afternoon.
With the Zebras at the top of Group 11 having already beaten powerhouse Tunisia and Chad, all the attention will be on Stanley Tshosane's charges to see how they fare against the Flames.
Selolwane has told the Botswana media that while they are happy with the attention they have been getting since the qualifiers started, it would be suicidal to think that the Flames will be a walkover.
"It is going to be a difficult game for us and we have to be on alert. We know what kind of opposition we're going to face having seen them at the Africa Cup of Nations. Their strong point compared to us is that they have lots of professional players in the big leagues," he said.
Selolwane warned that since they are at the top of Group 11, they might be intimidated during their stay in Malawi but the important thing is to focus on the job at hand.
He appealed to Zebras' fans not to be misled by the two consecutive wins they have registered and think that they have already reached the 2012 finals.
"I have heard that some supporters out there are already saying that we have reached the finals. It is going to be long walk and we need to put in a lot of hard work.
"People forget that we're underdogs in this group and we've done our best to accumulate the points we have now. Supporters must stop being negative and rally behind us in this important cause of reaching the Afcon finals for the first time," he stated
