Enyimba on course for Super Four title

Enyimba overcame a missed penalty and going a goal behind to put themselves within one point of victory at the Super Four with a 2-1 win over Kwara United on Friday.

In the day's early game, 10-man Sunshine Stars claimed the scalp of league runners-up Kano Pillars with a 1-0 win.

Enyimba now only need to avoid defeat against Pillars in their final game on Sunday to claim their second trophy of the year.

But that did not look a likely scenario when Philip Auta struck a tame penalty into the hand of Kwara keeper Wasiu Ibrahim.

The Afonja Warriors were happy enough with the reprieve and duly took advantage through Kabiru Sanusi on the stroke of half time.

With defeat looming, Okey Emordi threw on David Tyavkase, Henry Uche and Rasheed Olaniyi and the subs masterminded a siege on the Kwara area.

Reward took a while in coming, but it did 20 minutes before the end when Ekene Iwuorie turned in Kenneth Anyanwau's free kick.

The defender was on hand to claim the winner when he volleyed home from opposite fullback Ofem Inah's diagonal cross.

And Atanda Sakibu had a chance to make the margin of victory even greater, only to fluff his lines from six yards out.

It's such a shame that the super 4 matches are being played in an empty stadium. I cannot understand why Nigerians will not go to the stadium to watch our own football leagues best 4 teams play. Meanwhile spend 150 million British Pounds a year to watch the English league and we complain when the Super Eagles don't win their matches with a wide goal margin

its easy all clubs dont even have a brand...no website, no tv, no merchandise store...just nothing to show that they really exist....they need to take themself serious
