Themba rejoins TUKS

Former youth international midfielder Sibusiso Themba has reunited with the University of Pretoria four years after he left the club to join Moroka Swallows.

Themba has signed a one-year contract at TUKS as he seeks to put together the pieces of a career that was brought down by a troubled spell at Mpumalanga Black Aces last season.

"I have signed for a season after training with the team for three weeks," Themba tells KickOff.com.

The pint-sized midfielder had a series of problems at his home town club Aces last season.

"I negotiated some kind of settlement with Aces because I still had a year remaining on my contract with them. After that I got my clearance, I came back to TUKS because I had long reached the decision that I will not be staying at Aces as I didn't want to see myself facing those problems again.

"Coming to TUKS is a positive step for me because I will now be able to focus on my football," says Themba.

The 24 year-old has been capped at Under-20 and Under-23 level and joins a TUKS side that coach Steve Barker is reinforcing for the new season after struggling last year.
