Da Gama 'missing' from Celtic

Owen da Gama's absence from Bloemfontein Celtic's training yesterday and reports of a heated exchange between club boss Ikie Augousti and the coach are fuelling reports that 'Rubber Doll' is on his way to Platinum Stars.

Da Gama left the club in a huff on Wednesday, KickOff.com's efforts to get clarity on the situation have not met with little success, with team manager John Maduka saying only that they have not received a letter of resignation from Da Gama.

Da Gama left the training an unhappy man on Wednesday after a heated exchange with Augousti and yesterday assistant coach Clinton Larsen and David Modise conducted the practice session.

Neither Jimmy nor Ikie Augousti were available for comment and players questioned about Da Gama's absence said they were in the dark about the situation but had heard rumours that he was heading for Dinaledi.

The coaching situation at Dinaledi still remains clouded.

Stars gave Steve Komphela the boot a few weeks ago but the matter was not finalised because a settlement for the remainder of Komphela's two-year contract has still to be finalised.
