Carlos Alberto Parreira left South Africa on Wednesday at the end of his contract with Bafana Bafana, headed for his home in Rio de Janeiro.
He had been forced to stay in the country until the end of his deal with the South African Football Association, spending the time after Bafana Bafana's World Cup elimination to watch the rest of the tournament and do some commercial work for sponsors adidas.
He also completed a report that the SAFA chief executive officer Leslie Sedibe had demanded.
Parreira was sent off at the airport this morning by his successor, Pitso Mosimane.
Parreira broke down in tears at the end of the World Cup campaign when describing the enjoyment of working at the helm of Bafana Bafana.
He is now being courted by the Brazilian federation as a possible future technical director and by Corinthians, who want him to replace Mano Menenzes, last week named as the new Brazil coach.
