Fernandez wants out of Bielefeld

Posted: 2010-07-28 09:18

Former Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Rowen Fernandez has asked to leave Armenia Bielefeld in Germany and the club is likely to grant his request.

Disclosing this to Kicker.com, the Westphalians' coach Christian Ziege said that the South African minder had expressly asked for regular game time.

"Because we cannot guarantee this wish for him, we will not put any stones in his way," Ziege added.

Fernandez missed making the Bafana Bafana World Cup squad because Carlos Alberto Parreira deemed him not fit enough.

Fernandez, who moved to Germany in 2007, suffered a cruciate ligament tear that curtailed his appearances for the German club prior to him being called up.

Although Fernandez has been with Arminia for three years, he only made 18 full starts.

He was also plagued by injuries while under coach Ernest Middendorp while he was at Bielefeld.

this is from Chimps fan(general):not from me :::: Now I understand why Pirates said "NO" to the offer for Teko,Players must stop rushing to play in Europe because within a season they just dissapeared,In the World Cup how many players we had plying their trades with overseas teams look Nomvete it had helped him to come back home and play our domestic soccer he started to be Bhele who was known before going abroad. Who said that European clubs play better soccer than us in Africa,we have to take out this mentality of thinking that something that is abroad is better than with what we have here in Africa.Now we need to show them that we do have our own Gods talent.Let us learn to be proud with what we are.Khoza and Motsepe did well by sanctioning this Europe teams by not giving them Gaxa and Modise respectively. Look Tso,Rhee,Siyabonga Nkosi,Carnell ,Fernandez,Stanton Fredericks to name a few they went abroad when they were in peak of their perfomance,after that they got rusty and they were loaned from one team to another.Not all players will succeed in Europe like Rhoo,Pienaar and Benny. Now is the time to have our own and be proud of who we are.

Where are these players:

Bevan Fransman = disappeared
Bernad Parker= disappeared
Zuma= disappeared
Tso,= disappeared
Rhee,= disappeared
Siyabonga = disappeared
Booth = disappeared
Nkosi,= disappeared
Carnell ,= disappeared
Fernandez,= disappeared
Stanton Fredericks = disappeared
Mbesuma= disappeared

The following players must also be dropped in the national team

1. Steven Pienaar
2. Mbazo
3. Dikgacoi
4. Fernandez
The list is endless

*** All players going overseas must be dropped in the squad. Those are r going ovaseas they are under risk of being dropped.

I knw of players who fade away playing in our PSL. I think the problem is with our players, they're just not doin it in football circles.

Just come back home bro... Your time in Germany was over a long time ago.. The sad part is that, you have got nothing to show for being abroad. I hear ACES in in a signing spree. You can be sure of more game time in Mpumalanga...

Ramon: 2010-07-28 10:04

Mp, is in the mood indeed.
