Tipa pushes for Pirates

Posted: 2010-07-28 07:49

Bienvenu Tipa called off a proposed trial in Indonesia in order to sign with Orlando Pirates.

The Cameroonian, who has received his South African citizenship and would be registered as a local, says he jumped at the chance to play for Bucs having also turned out in the PSL with Bloemfontein Celtic and Bidvest Wits.

"I was supposed to travel to Indonesia for trials but while I was preparing my travel documents my manager called me and talked about going for a trial at Pirates," Tipa says.

"Any player would jump at the chance to play for Pirates and personally, for me, it will be one of the highlights of my playing career."

Although a deal is not quite done yet, the 30-year-old defensive midfielder has impressed in training, but as veteran defender Lucky Lekgwathi warns, he would be in for some "stiff competition" should he join the club.

**** I thought Lucky Lekgwathi has hang up his boots!!!! This is shame. Tipa 30 years, Lucky, 30 years. It's time we reduced those madala's in our team.

Tipa please take Professor Mdluli with you to Indonesia. In your position we have Mayanga, Dona, Mothibantwa also Chansa and Jali can play there. If Lindo Mkhwanazi and Mike Morton come back, it would be too much.

30 is not old, it is 2 years over prime time, still prime if u ask me. Besides he's betta than Mlungisi Gumbi and Lekgwathi My Captain is still better than Jele & Seema put together

Bring it on!!! People cant wait to watch OP, espicially to see the special one Teko Modise proving his critics wrong surrounded by a GALAXI OF STARS. Bafana Bafana is too slow for Teko, he is used to high and fast tempored games. not boMatatazela Tshabalala and BoPhuza face Mphela, naboTrekere Sibaya and good for nothing Pienaaaar Nx, as well as Spider Skiki Khune. Its fact that Teko contributed to Gaxa perfomance at 2010WC, He never exposed him and when on attack he passed him on time and still came back to defend with him. Teko game a solid perfomance at the 2010WC. Motsipe Patrice has been seen often with Itumeleng Khune(Can Khune refuse R300,000 PM compared to the peanuts he eanrs at Developing Club Kwenza Chiefs. heheheheheh watch the news.

Please, we don't want you at Pirates, we have just released Mdluli/Gumbi, we are also trying to release Lekgwathi and Mhlongo because they are old. I am pleading with you to go elsewhere, please. I know Khoza will sign you as he is clueless.

The Ghost: 2010-07-28 16:19

No man, this thing of foreigners taking up citizenship so that they can play for South African clubs is killing us ... really! Look at our local grown talent has dwindled over the years, and tell me if I am wrong. Believe it or not, the same thing is also happening with the English Premier League where the foreign legion has taken over, and thus the English team is affected.
