NFF suspend Ojo Oba, others

NFF Secretary General Bolaji Ojo-Oba has been asked to proceed on ‘compulsory leave’ by the executive committee of the federation following a board meeting on Monday in Abuja.
Ojo Oba is the most high-profile casualty of a house-cleaning campaign being embarked upon by the new board led by Aminu Maigari following the sacking of Sani Lulu.
Mrs Saidat Adegoke, Head of Administration, and Sunday Okhai, Head of Referees Unit, are two key administrative officials also asked to join Ojo-Oba on ‘compulsory leave’, while Chief Media Officer Ademola Olajire has been suspended indefinitely.
Executive Committee member Obinna Ogba, who announced the decision, explained that Ojo-Oba had not gone on leave since being employed by the federation, but sources within the board told KickOffNigeria.com that the current leadership believe his loyalties lie elsewhere.
Olajire's offence was tied to a mix up in the national anthems during the African Youth Championship qualifier at the National stadium in Abuja on Saturday.
Assistant Secretary General (Administration) Musa Amadu has been asked to deputise for Ojo-Oba, who is not expected to return, while Robinson Okosun will take Olajire's place.
