Sibusiso Zuma impresses at first Vasco da Gama training

Posted: 23 July 2010 Time: 09:03

Former Bafana Bafana star Sibusiso Zuma showed some excellent touches in his first training session with Vasco da Gama at Parow Park last night.

Coach Carlos das Neves was very impressed with Zuma’s condition and says he’ll be a big drawcard for the club if he puts pen to paper.

“I’m pleasantly surprised to see the condition Zuma is in,” Das Neves told KickOff.com. “He doesn’t have an ounce of fat on him. I hope he still has the energy and desire to play for another year or two.

“I know he’s 35, but so are Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs and they’re doing a fantastic job. Obviously, we’re looking at him; maybe we can come to an arrangement.

“I think Zuma will be a big drawcard; not only for the fans, but also for other players to come to Vasco. He’s a big attraction, people will come to watch Vasco when they hear he’s playing for us and other players will say, ‘Well the club means business – let’s see what they got!’”

Zuma was in a jovial mood afterwards, joking about the possibility of scoring against his old club Orlando Pirates in Vasco’s opening PSL encounter.

“Of course that would be nice,” Zuma laughed. “I enjoyed my training and scored a few goals, but I am just getting over flu which has kept me at home for the past two weeks.”

Now I understand why Pirates said "NO" to the offer for Teko,Players must stop rushing to play in Europe because within a season they just dissapeared,In the World Cup how many players we had plying their trades with overseas teams look Nomvete it had helped him to come back home and play our domestic soccer he started to be Bhele who was known before going abroad.
Who said that European clubs play better soccer than us in Africa,we have to take out this mentality of thinking that something that is abroad is better than with what we have here in Africa. Now we need to show them that we do have our own Gods talent.Let us learn to be proud with what we are.Khoza and Motsepe did well by sanctioning this Europe teams by not giving them Gaxa and Motsepe respectively.

Look Tso,Rhee,Siyabonga Nkosi,Carnell ,Fernandez,Stanton Fredericks to name a few they went abroad when they were in peak of their perfomance, after that they got rusty and they were loaned from one team to another. Not all players will succeed in Europe like Rhoo,Pienaar and Benny.

Now is the time to have our own and be proud of who we are.

SIBUSISO eish my boet u are really back,

Mahlatse to further elaborate on your sentiments, Zuma is denying a young an opportunity, basically in economic terms he is contributing negatively to unemployment rate.

because a family could survive on the space he is occupying.....

Teko disappeared long ago rigth infront of your sight. Now stop worshipping himso much and go to church. He goes to church himself and yet u make him to be your god.

Sbu has always been the most disciplined player and took good care of himself. I still beleive barring injuries, Vasco will bebebtter served in signing him Especially if they r to play with youngsters.

This Blog has degenerated to levels lower than the den of Shadrak, Meshack and Abednigo. It is boring really now thats why we are not getting new memembers anymore. It is full of stereotypes like King, Tivani and those i may not mention their name .Not you Sweyts my outie, u r entertaining with your crap.
