Stanton Lewis now at Silkeborg
Lewis gets another Danish trial

Ajax Cape Town striker Stanton Lewis is on trial at Danish club Silkeborg, but a prospective move to the Superliga club is a complicated affair.
Lewis was invited to trials by the club ahead of the weekend after Silkeborg believed they had sold their striker Rajko Lekic to Turkish outfit Konyaspor and needed to find a replacement.
However, that deal has fallen through and for the meantime Lekic will remain with the club, though he is still looking to move on and may yet be sold in this transfer window.
That means Silkeborg coach Troels Bech has decided to have a look at Lewis on trial, even though he does not have space for him in his squad at present.
“We have Lewis on trial because we must know what players are available if we are going to get a striker in the future,” Bech told tipsbladet.dk. “It is quite possible that the teams who were interested in Lekic before Konyaspor will come for him again.
“He [Lewis] looks promising, but we are yet to come through the full trial. I can see that he is OK man against man, but does need to improve his overall fitness,” Bech added.
Lewis has tried his luck in Denmark before, having been on trial at Sibusiso Zuma's old club FC Nordsjælland in January 2009 before heading home to Ajax Cape Town. He also had trials at Swedish club Djurgardens fall through.
