Former Bafana Bafana striker Sibusiso Zuma will be arriving in Cape Town today to begin training with Absa Premiership rookies Vasco da Gama.
Disclosing this to KickOff.com, Vasco coach Carlos das Neves said: “He will here to look at what we have and we will also look what he has to offer for us before we make decision on whether to sign him.”
The 35-year-old former Bafana star went back to Denmark in September last year to revive his career last year after flopping at Mamelodi Sundowns.
He had been a hero in Denmark with FC Copenhagen in his initial spell in the country, helping his club to win several League titles and cup competitions and also being named Footballer of the Year before joining FC Nordsjaelland, where he made 13 appearances for the club. He was used mainly as an impact player.
Meanwhile, Das Neves adds that he that will keep his permanent job as an accountant at World Sport in Cape Town whilst continuing to coach the club this season.
And the former Hellenic player said he won’t be taking on any additional members to the technical team due to financial constraints.
“I will remain the head coach and won’t be bringing anyone else in; as it was last year. We have been spending time in the gym in the mornings and training in the afternoon during the pre-season training.”
