Brazilian fitness trainer Japhet Borges has dumped Moroka Swallows and headed off to join Orlando Pirates after successfully buying himself out of the contract he still had with the Birds.
Borges has been head-hunted by Bucs and offered a tempting and improved contract that he could not turn down.
Apparently Bucs boss Irvin Khoza has been impressed with the work that Brazilian physical trainers have done in Bafana Bafana, which has prompted him to lure Borges to his camp.
“He [Borges] has bought himself out of the contract he had with the club and will now be joining Pirates,” Swallows boss Leon Prins tells KickOff.com. “Look, it doesn’t matter how many years he had remaining on his contract; the bottom line is that money exchanged hands and he has gone to Pirates where I wish him well,” says Prins.
Borges arrived at Swallows two years ago along with fellow countryman Julio Leal and stayed behind when Leal was fired to continue working under Rainer Zobel.
