More Zim players head for SA

Yet another Zimbabwean player, Gunners and Warriors defender Daniel Veremu, is heading to South Africa on a club-hunting mission.

Veremu left his homeland on Monday morning for trials with Maritzburg United. He becomes the second player in as many weeks after Dynamos striker Cuthbert Malajila to try his luck at the People’s Choice.

Although there are indications that Malajila, who had also attracted the interest of Free State Stars, impressed at Maritzburg, it was not immediately clear whether the club had offered him a deal. Malajila is on loan to Dynamos from Central Region Division One outfit Chapungu.

This is the second time inside a month that Veremu has gone to South Africa on a club-hunting mission, with the Gunners centre-back having been on a similar mission at Platinum Stars, though it did not yield a contract.

Gunners team manager Wellington Mpandare, in confirming Veremu's departure for South Africa, said the player would be at the Pietermaritzburg club for a week.

Maritzburg United have former Zimbabwe Saints goalkeeper Pernell McKop in their technical department.

Dynamos goalkeeper Washington Arubi is also eyeing a switch to South Africa and has been on trial at AmaZulu.

Gunners midfielder Ramson Zhuwawo returned at the end of last week from Vasco da Gama, while Motor Action's William Kupera also tried his luck at Wits University.

This is a big worry we all saw what happenned during the world cup and it looks like we haven't learned any lessons. Where are the players to represent us going to come from if we don't give our players a chance? The national team coach will be blamed but forgeting that the teams are not producing the players I think the league and Safa needs to intervine because this is really becoming a joke, can someone explain to me are we saying that Zim players are better than ours please.

PSL must do what Italy is doing if they are serious about developing SA talent. Only one foreign player must be signed by a team per season. Only 2 foreign players to play per match. No foreigner players should play in the NFD. This kak of African Renaissance won't take us anywhere.

We have more better players in the townships than these average players.

Some leagues in Africa shouldn’t even be considered like Lesotho, Botswana, Namibia, Tanzania, etc. these league are weak. A good player there is only good for that league.

The foreign player need to have National Caps from his country (e.g. more than 50 Caps), his country and league should be at certain FIFA rating (e.g. Top 10 in Africa or top 50 in the World).

A foreign player’s National team should be always qualifying for African Nations Cup and world cup; the player should be there playing…

SAFA sould put a rule that foreign players b given 1 year contracts and Signed player should play certain number of matches to renew his contract with a PSL. if in that year he plays less required matchs, he must b deported as he's useless

We can’t afford to be bring bench warmer from other countries. If a foreigner is not delivering, he needs to go back home and improve there, not here. No PSL team has a player from Ghana…? Do we have National team players of Ivory Coast, Cameroon and Algeria? NO!!

definatly no foreign players should be allowed in SA developments, Castle, Vodacom and NFD leagues. or else Zeno should begin!!!

I am slowly not liking the PSL,how can their love for money influence their decision making. All Zimbo players headup SA league because they are cheaper commodities.
