Bidvest Wits have finally snapped up Ryan Chapman from Santos.
Chapman has joined the Clever Boys on a two-year contract after months of chasing the speedy midfield-cum-striker by the Johannesburg-based club.
Roger de Sa, the Wits coach has for long made no secret of his admiration of Chapman whom he gave a PSL debut to when he was still coach at Santos four years ago.
Wits manager George Mogotsi revealed to KickOff.com that they have just completed the signing of Chapman who will now be returning to be closer to home in Benoni.
“We have just signed Chapman on a two year contract with an option of a third year. We bought him from Santos because he was still under contract there. It is a done deal and the boy is now our player,” says Mogotsi.
Chapman, who once had a stint with Orlando Pirates juniors, spent four years in the Santos first team and ill off-set the loss of Calvin Kadi to an overseas club.
