Safa, Pitso reach agreement

Posted: 2010-07-15 06:45

An agreement has been reached with Pitso Mosimane to become the new Bafana Bafana coach according to the SA Football Association on Wednesday.

President Kirsten Nematandani said in a report carried by SABC that the details of the contract had been sorted out, but both parties still had to sign the document.

"We got a recommendation from the technical committee and all that was left to do was to agree to the contract as to the bonuses, salaries and things, and I believe we have found a winning combination," said Nemantandani.

"The two parties seem to agree on the contract and all we need to do is to reduce that into signatures," he said.

Nematandani said Safa hoped to introduce Mosimane as the new Bafana coach today, after the contracts had been signed.

"As soon as it is in black and white he will have to meet with you [the media] and introduce him.

"We want to tie it down because we have a lot to do in terms of development. He will have to look after the national team and we have to look after the little kids," Nematandani said.

Parreira said we must give Santana the job, what happend after that, I dont think I need to go in detail about that. Hello everybody knows.

Now SAFA still getting the advice from the Man I personally consider a true failure, come on SAFA. I believe that the bafana Job should have been open to every top manager being it both locally and abroud, so as the real quality and more qualified manager can get the job. For Me Pitso is just being pushed into the post which I still believe He was doing well as a assistant, for Me that should be hes job then we should get someone more technical and more offensive, of which Pitso does not have. At Supersport what did He do.

What a sad sad day for South African football, appointing a racist coward to take our senior team forward.

SAFA, can’t you see that Pitso was part of a failing technical team, how come you guy want continuity? On what? On the failing process that plague us the lat 10 years!!!!

Guys, let’s face the facts...I honestly can see Bafana Bafana qualify from our AFCON group that include the Mighty Egyptian team that ranked 9th in the world! At leat not with the current team.

I still feel there’s so much talents that not being utilized all because people in our beloved country uses the football to push their own political agendas!

Here’s the solution to SA’s footballing problem.

-Let’s create a huge pool of players....including ALL SOUTH AFRICAN BORN players. ( the Furman and Surmans and so on)
-Get a team of scouts to go and look at all these South Africans.
-Scheduled friendly games again top 30 teams and test these players. ( Look what Ghana and Germany has done)
-Recall all forgotten players like Buckley, Morris and company to give them a last chance on cementing a place in the pool of Bafana players
-Get scouts to go and look at all our youngsters playing overseas.
-Arrange more Bafana camps in Europe so that overseas clubs won’t have issue releasing players. And schedule most friendly game there, doing this will prevent overseas players having to travel halfway around the world to play for some stupid friendly game in SA only to sit 88 minutes on the bench. ( Nasief Morris for example.) And it’s resolve all the clubs vs counrty crap where clubs don’t want to release players)
-Last but not least, remove overrated Teko from the team.......to big headed, not good for players around him!

Riccye, what you are suggesting is going bring backward Bafana Bafana's improving perfomances. The national team need the tried and tested players you are sugesting as they fail to impress under PARREIRA because they are nothing else but butch of bench warmers in the European Teams. For the sake of continuity I strongly believe that Pitso deserve a chance AND the only thing that will help him is convince SAFA to reconsider the reinforcement of the development structures which the reason why GHANA is currently excelling in football.

it's high time Kickoff Readers stand up and say no to Pitso Mosimane. We really need restructuring in SA footbal. SAFA is not serious about appointing a Coach. They r just handpicking coach . They say Pitso will continue where Perraire left. Perrraire failed, Santana failed, so as Pitso. So do we want Pitso continue failing us?That brazillial systems sucks.

It's better we took 2 to 3 years building a new young blood team, than continueing with Pitso. New technical team, new system, More young Blood.
We dont want to continue with Perraire's ideologies. Infact, Mr Jacob Zuma should have banned Bafana Bafana, from competing at international level after WC poor showing. He should have done what Nigeria, was about to do. He must stop being too lenient and soft.

Shame on you SAFA.
Ths is really unfair for Pitso.
Ths would be his last spell as part of Bafana.Y........
Really,the Last Goodbye for Pitso.
Can't Blame him(Pisto) of course."Don't hate the player, hate the Game".

KING: 2010-07-15 09:48

Lets look at the bright side

Its a blessing that, Pitso is appointed now so that he can fail early, trust me he will fail, he is a product of failure(Failed with Dimitru,Santan,Perreira and as a care taker coach) and then we will then push Bra Shakes Mashaba u23 coach, he has done it before, then appoint Farouk Khan and Lucas Radebe ko Technical, then SA football will resurface.

Pitso has achieved nothing to deserve to be trusted with such high responsibility.

Soccer Critic ( Tivani ): 2010-07-15 09:52

The reality is, Bafana did not do us proud because they failed to proceed to the next round, do not read me wrong, I support the team. Pitso was part of the technical team behind this team and they failed. You cannot continue with this team if you are serious about building the 2014 squad with average age of 24yrs. I am not convinced that Pitso is the right choice, given what happened throughout the spending of millions to prepare a team that we should have been proud of. His PSL track record vs Gavin Hunt is not convincing. He was given a chance for the past four years to build the foundation as part of the technical team, let him be given a chance and if results are not coming within the first 12 months, they will never come. He just need to be replace before is too late as this will be evidence that the continuity thing used as a reason is not taking us in the right path. Lastly, Please SAFA stop waisting money on coaching, we need development as in yesterday.

SAFA missed a golden opportunity to carry the momentum gained from the WC, as always they blundered. Pitso has never achieved anything worthwhile to deserve to coach SA, ge re bolela nnete Gavin Hunt or Gordon Ignesund deserves the job more than anyone else at this current juncture. Until we stop being obsessed with race and make our decisions based on merit we will never achieve anything soccer wise. lets just forget about going to Brazil come 2014, Parreira should have been begged to stay till 2014 at least if continuity was what were looking for. Gavin & Gordon are also SAn's thus i dont see the logic of excluding the best we have...lets just grow up please for the sake of our beloved country.

Jazzman manages Khabo Zondo, do you really think Jazzman's players wont be selected, this is the point i am trying to drive about Pitso. Everyone in SA wants to make quick money and secure their families. There is just 2much corruption,

players abroad are managed by the family members. Rob Moore and Jazzman control the national team selection, like it or not.

fire: 2010-07-15 15:41

A sad day indeed! Pitso as a care-taker coach was not playing to win, but not to loose. Remembder how he used to celebrate draws? After we play a draw with Egypt at home, he will be the best thing to happen after sliced-bread. We are such an un-ambitious nation, it is puzzling. This administration promised to sweep clean,so Pitso is not part of the package. At the moment Gavin Hunt and Shakes Mashaba are the best S.A has to offer. Why overlook them?

Lerauskey: 2010-07-15 16:10

Surely Pitso has been groomed for the position, whether he is ready or not,it is a question that should be answered soon.

On the flipside...... is he the best we have in the country? if yes... gud enough,if not... why are we not going for the best we have?
