Pienaar not for sale - Moyes

Posted: 2010-07-14 15:52

Everton manager David Moyes has insisted that the club are not considering offers to sell midfielder Steven Pienaar.

The South Africa international had a groundbreaking season with the Toffees last term, leading a resurgence during the second half of the campaign following a difficult start that had seen the Merseyside club stuck in the wrong half of the table for a significant period.

The former Ajax winger has only one-year left on his current contract with Everton, and it had been speculated that the club might be tempted to sell their prized asset rather than risk losing him for free next summer.

Recent reports had also suggested that Tottenham Hotspur were interested in acquiring the services of the midfielder, as the north London club prepare for their baptism in the Champions League.

However, Moyes has remained resolute that Pienaar will still be at Goodison Park next campaign.

"We are not listening to offers for him, and he is not going to be sold, because we don’t want to sell him," he said, according to The Mirror.

"Steven plays for Everton, and that’s it really, and I don’t know any more than that."

I think its time for Schillo to move-on while his legs can still carry him, preferably to A.r.s.e.n.a.l as his style of play can definitely suit him @ Emirates Stadium!!!

Perhaps its a gud thing for him to remain at Everton rather than risking a move where he is not certain if he'll make starting 11 lyk he has at his current club

Lets face it, Steven is more like Lovers Mohlala. Because he plays well at club level, but fails to produce in international level.

I think its more like Anti-patrioriaphobia.
To cure it, you have to lick the sweat of a foreigner after the match.

There's so much happening in the soccer world, but KickOff is surprisingly QUIET and with no new stories. If the editor is tired of maintaining this site, the job should be given to someone else, klaar!

Pitso Mosimane will become the new Bafana Bafana head coach, said Safa president Kirsten Nematandani.

It was public knowledge that the perennial number two was set to take the hotseat following the departure of Carlos Alberto Parreira.

The national body confirmed as much at a press conference during the World Cup, in which they revealed that Mosimane was their only candidate.

Nematandani has now confirmed that the former SuperSport United coach will fill the void but there are a few stumbling blocks that need to be overcome before it can be officially announced. "The search is over and the only outstanding issue is around his contract," Nematandani told Business Day.

And i'd say::

Lets face it, Messi is more like DI Maria. Because he plays well at club level, but fails to produce in international level.
